Dine with Delight at Little Sofia Cafe
Nestled in the heart of Istanbul's charming Sultanahmet district, Little Sofia Cafe offers a culinary experience that tantalizes both taste buds and the senses.
My visit commenced with the exquisite Kofta starter, a succulent grilled meat patty served with a vibrant tomato-based sauce. The kofta, seasoned to perfection, melted in my mouth, leaving a savory trail in its wake.
Next came the Vegetable Fresh Casserole, a delightful medley of fresh and crispy vegetables, simmered in a rich and flavorful broth. The vibrant colors and textures of the vegetables were a feast for the eyes, while the symphony of flavors on my palate was nothing short of exceptional.
The highlight of my dining experience was the impeccable service extended by the friendly owners. They were not only attentive and accommodating, but also eager to share their knowledge of the menu and Istanbul's hidden gems. Their personalized recommendations and insights greatly enriched my visit.
Equally noteworthy is the cafe's enchanting setting. Perched next to the captivating Little Sofia Mosque, the panoramic view it affords is breathtaking. As you savor your meal, you can gaze out at the bustling city below and appreciate the architectural splendor of Istanbul's skyline.
Overall, my dining experience at Little Sofia Cafe was an absolute delight. The exceptional food, coupled with the warm hospitality and breathtaking views, created a memorable and unforgettable moment in my Istanbul sojourn. I highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone seeking a culinary and cultural experience that will leave an...
Read moreI've lived in Turkey for 10 years with my gf who is is Turkish and this is the worst interpretation of a traditional Turkish breakfast I have ever experienced.. It's all wrong. I came here based upon the positive google reviews hoping to get a break from the bland hotel breakfast. We ordered the Kahvalti and Sujuk Yumurtlar. The Sujuk Yumurtlar consisted of what appeared to be 2 poached eggs with the cheapest baton sujuk from a corner shop or wholesaler, poorly cooked and it is usually used on toasted sandwiches. This dish should be a rich hearty dish, traditionally prepared with kasap sujuk, butter and eggs either fried or scrambled. It was a sadness to see such little care or pride in such a humble but stable dish. The Kavalti for 2 consisted of 2 eggs, 8 small side dishes and poor quality cheese. We had to request beyaz penir, which is the standard. My gf also requested service plates which they were reluctant to provide. In my opinion it's a tourist trap and offers poor value for money. You will find much better options. As an added extra the owner kindly fed some of our left over breakfast in front of us to the hungry cat outside, but not the dodgy turkey ham which we left for health reasons . Not sure what happened to that. Not sure how this could receive positive reviews, this is...
Read moreWow!! Such a "Little Gem" we found in Istanbul, very close to Sultanahmet (Blue Mosque) and Hagia Sofia. A family owned businesses that you can feel as soon as you step in. Picturesque little cafe restaurant with terrace, blend of ancient traditions with Turkish clay pot dishes, mezzes, etc.. Little Sofia is a cozy little place with a quiet atmosphere next to a small mosque, excellent service, and a delightful service that captures the essence of Turkish culinary heritage.
Thanks to Abde, Omer, and the rest of outstanding staff that run the business on a daily basis to make it an unique experience.
