We had booked here to celebrate our wedding anniversary, stating this in the reservation.
We arrived and waited at the concierge desk, to be ignored by all employees buzzing around. We eventually got seated after having to ask someone.
For the amount of waiters and food runners, it seems really disorganised. I'd recommend a maitre'd. The starters were OK. Again, the table beside us got seated, given bread and olives. We were seated, order taken, starters brought out and then some bread an olives!
Starters were fine, the soup was just about warm, the tomato and mozzarella was tasty but lacked seasoning, as did the soup.
The mains were OK, the steak was well cooked but again, lacked seasoning. The seafood linguine was good but the parmesan in the sauce had melted and stuck to the bottom of the bowl, added too early and cooked too much. The side dish of parmesan was rock solid, clearly been sitting out for hours, totally dried out. The meal was OK, underseasoned again.
Dessert wasn't great, I had the creme brulee where the waiter proceeded to fire the sugar topping at the table, missing most of it, not melting or creating a crisp. The dish was too shallow in my opinion, it tasted OK but the ratio of creme to brulee was off. We also had the strawberry millefois which was a disappointment. The pastry was burnt and tasted overcooked.
We asked to pay and tried to pay in TL. Although it showed as TL, the waiter had "decided" or chosen to complete the transaction in GBP, thereby incurring higher charges, which we had not asked for.
Overall, the food was fine, nothing special. The service wasn't great. Some hits, mostly misses. The restaurant lacks "the ability to execute" in my opinion. Serving and selling more expensive food, without the knowledge, seasoning, service or ability to back up their prices.
No mention was made of our anniversary, not that we were expecting anything, but paying £100 for mediocre service and OK food, any acknowledgement would have added value. A bit underwhelming in my opinion and not...
Read moreWe visited on the last night of our trip to Antalya (last Saturday night). I had actually noticed this place on the way back from the previous night and thought it looked a great place to watch the sunset so booked a table for 6:30pm on the website and they emailed me back that day to confirm. When we arrived no one was at reception to welcome us.... so we wandered in and were immediately barked at if we had a reservation to which we replied yes and gave our name. The staff then started shouting my name throughout the reception area and actually made me show them my confirmation email which to be honest made me feel quite uncomfortable as if they thought we were lying :/ We were shown to our seats...the place was quiet but soon started to fill up and I noticed that as it did (with Turkish speakers) we started to be ignored by the staff. The food was fantastic but my friend ordered what she thought was cooked fish, actually turned out to be raw and when she asked if it could be returned a massive fuss was made by around 4 members of staff surrounding the table and talking to us very loudly..... it was EMBARRASSING. I’m so disappointed as what was meant to be an amazing last night left us both with a bitter taste in our mouths. This place is not cheap by Turkish standards and if you are a non native and would like to enjoy a good standard of service I would recommend...
Read moreThis place is a scam. It’s a beautiful place and that’s about it. If you’re thinking of eating there than be careful. I wanted 2 glasses of champagne and the waiter tried to force me to buy the whole bottle which costs £500 despite my explanation and showing him what I wanted from the menu twice. Ordered 2 starters: fish soup and calamari. Fish soup was literally tasteless and it contained hardly any fish, the calamari was basically just batter. 2 mains: mixed grill and seafood platter. Mixed grill was dry, tasteless and over priced. Seafood platter should be called the bread platter instead. The bottom of the plate was filled with bread and tomato sauce on top of it I got two pieces of overcooked fish, 3 inedible prawns and octopus that was supposed to be on that plate unfortunately it didn’t make it for some reason. I was approached and asked by the waiter if the food was nice because my plate was almost full even though I was finished with the meal so I said that the seafood platter was terrible he just looked and walked away. Nobody said sorry nobody was bothered about the fact that we have spent so much money (even for things we didn’t order which they just brought to our table by themselves). I paid and left. I don’t recommend this place unless you want to admire the view and have a drink but be careful when you order and pay attention to what they bring...
