Mermerli Plaji Beach Club is a hidden gem tucked away within the Antalya Old Town (Kaleici). While Antalya boasts many beautiful beaches, Mermerli Plaji offers a unique experience that combines stunning scenery, crystal-clear waters, and a charming atmosphere.
Perfect for a Daycation
The beach club itself is relatively small, with a rocky shore and sun loungers nestled amidst the pebbles. However, its compact size creates a cozy and intimate ambiance. The entrance fee is quite reasonable, and it includes sun lounger access, showers, and changing rooms. You can also rent towels for a small additional charge.
Delicious Food and Beverages Delivered to Your Lounger
One of the highlights of Mermerli Plaji is the excellent restaurant service. You can relax on your lounger and order refreshing drinks, delicious Turkish meals, or light snacks to be delivered straight to you. This eliminates the need to pack a picnic or leave your spot for refreshments throughout the day.
Ideal for Swimming and Snorkeling
The crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea are a major draw at Mermerli Plaji. The beach is perfect for swimming and wading, with calm waves and a gentle entry into the water. For those who enjoy exploring the underwater world, the rocky seabed offers a haven for colorful fish, making it a great spot for snorkeling.
A Picturesque Escape
The views from Mermerli Plaji are simply breathtaking. The beach itself is framed by dramatic cliffs, while the Antalya Old Town with its historic harbor and ancient city walls provides a stunning backdrop. The juxtaposition of the modern beach club with the historical setting creates a unique and picturesque atmosphere.
Overall, Mermerli Plaji Beach Club is a fantastic option for anyone seeking a relaxing and enjoyable beach experience in the heart of Antalya. It's perfect for a day trip, offering a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of the city while still providing all the amenities you need for a comfortable and enjoyable day...
Read moreThe beach is really small, the entry price is 500 lira per person (~10€), at first we were told there were only transat without umbrella left, we were a bit disapponted but still proceeded. Arriving we were given transats barely above water level, the « beach » is really REALLY crowded, transats are STACKED don’t even think about personnal space. We were told that in 10-15 min better seats would be free (lie) and that the tile would go down (the tile takes 5h to go down and lowers by 10cm..). GO EARLY for a correct spot. The swimming is cool, you also have a floating platform when you can try to catch a bit of calm from the people, wannabe instagramers and loud music. Note that the water is very dirty near the beach (plastics, hairs, etc) but clean when you swim. Also important : once you pay and enter YOU CANNOT GO OUT or you have to pay again (a way to make you eat there probably). Overall our experience was a bit deceiving, I don’t think it’s the staff fault tho. Conclusion : personally i will find...
Read moreTucked beneath the ancient Roman-era walls of Antalya’s old town, Mermerli Beach is not only a beautiful seaside escape but also a place where history and leisure intertwine. The name “Mermerli” comes from the Turkish word for “marble,” likely tied to remnants of ancient marble structures from the Roman and Byzantine periods. When I visited in late May, the weather was absolutely perfect—warm and sunny—but there were still few swimmers, making the beach feel peaceful and relaxed. Though small, the beach is gorgeous and the water is crystal clear. Do note: it’s not a free beach, so expect a small entrance fee that includes access to sunbeds, umbrellas, and showers. If you're not planning to swim, late May is a great time to visit when it’s not too crowded. With the historic Kaleiçi walls behind you and the turquoise Mediterranean in front, it’s a uniquely tranquil spot worth experiencing.
