Adam (Bartender/Server) SAVED this review! He solely gave us a renewed hope that our food experience could be salvaged with another visit. He suggested the Fried Snapper next time. He was smart, knowledgeable, quick & efficient, personable and friendly. The other staff members were gracious & helpful but Adam stood out! Otherwise, this review would be a 1.5-2 based on the food. The drinks: Rum Punch & the Mango Pina Colada were good but both needed an extra shot to be NICE! Bambarra Rum used is a bit on the light side, but it has a good flavor, like candied sweet potato spices. The Bambarra wings are a DEFINITE! The Blackened Grouper wasn't cooked through & is battered & pan fried versus a true Blackened sear or grill (creole style.) The Macaroni pie/bake was HORRENDOUS!!!! Don't know who made it but it looked as if toddlers played in it. It was dry, overcooked, NO FLAVOR & COLD, not even lukewarm. IT SHOULD NOT HAVE EVER been served to paying customers! It was sent back along with the bland steamed veggies. Maybe this was an off-day, which Adam assured us it was. He apologized profusely. Today's food is a VERY POOR representation of THE MOST highly recommended restaurant since we've arrived, by locals and other vacationers. Also had the miniscule grilled grouper sandwich, which should be on the Kid's menu. The fries were paltry! Horribly cooked, like leftover & left out McD fries. They were also returned. We opted for Grilled Grouper to replace the un-cooked Blackened but it came pan seared versus grilled. We just kept it because we were starving & had saved our appetite for this experience turned nightmare. We also opted for coleslaw, which might as well had been soup! It had good flavor but DROWNED in watery sauce. The oil needs to be changed more often. Tables, menus & bathrooms CLEANED better! We also had to return a glass due to a lack of cleanliness. It still had lip prints. Overall, HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING! Photos not worth posting but...

Mr. Grouper is hands down my favorite restaurant, located on my favorite island, Turks and Caicos. I have countless reasons for returning to this island time and time again, but I must shamelessly admit that Mr. Grouper ranks up there with my reason for revisitin Grace Bay Beach, which is in among my top 3 of most spectacular beaches that I have ever visited. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted by friendly staff and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The delicious coconut grouper, fish fingers, and conch chowder that is served at this establishment are what daydreams and hunger mirages are made of. The coconut grouper is an absolute must-try. It's cooked to perfection and the flavors are out of this world. The fish fingers are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the conch chowder is the perfect starter…I think I’ve subconsciously asked for it when the staff took my drink order. If they were to open a restaurant in New York, I would be willing to trade an organ just to indulge in their cuisine. Until such a time, I plan on retiring, in a tent if I must, next to this culinary paradise.

People have asked where I stay when I go to T&C “Beaches?”, pshhh, good luck being stuck with all inclusive food on this island when there are so many amazing restaurants to choose from. Overall, Mr. Grouper is truly a special place. It's definitely worth a visit, and it's a restaurant that I would recommend to anyone looking for great seafood on their trip to...

So me and my girlfriend went to Mr. Groupers because it was recommended in the magazines and books we researched coming up to our trip. We were greeted at the door but were asked to find our own seats. After sitting at the table we wanted, the wait staff personally sat three other tables gave them menu and drinks before they brought menus to our table. We ordered are drinks and after an unreasonably long time they finally came back out with the drinks to ask if we were ready to order. I specifically asked for a coconut crusted grouper. When she brought it out she said who had the grouper which we both replied we did because we both ordered a form of grouper. She hesitated when giving me my plate and said, "you ordered snapper?" i told her, "i did not, i ordered grouper." She said she would check. The waitress never came back to tell me the wrong dish was delivered. When she came back to give me the bill she said and I quote, "i talked to the girl who took your order she said you ordered the snapper you just ate the snapper so that's whats on the bill." My girlfriend and I disputed it with her but she was relentless in telling me what i said from a second persons view, So i payed our Bill and Left. As far as the plate i ordered the food was so-so the best thing on the plate was the sides. The fish itself actually made me sick i was not able to eat the whole thing. Hopefully this gives some insight into what your in store for when visiting this...

I had heard a lot about Mr. Grouper's from other travelers and locals alike, so I was really looking forward to trying the restaurant! We came in for a late lunch on a random Tuesday, and were able to find parking easily, and were seated quickly. I tried the conch burger for the first time, which was battered and fried conch, with lettuce, cheese, and tomato on a double decker sesame seed bun. It was really good and came with fries. We were seated outside on the deck, and didn't have any issues with flies like some of the other reviewers mentioned. However, I'm not sure if this has to do with the time we visited (mid July) because I didn't see many flies at all on the island. Overall, I liked the restaurant! It has an extensive menu, so if you are going with a large group, there's a good chance everyone will find something they like. It even has a vegan section of entrees! And, it is definitely one of the more affordable restaurants on Provo. Apparently, the most popular time to visit Mr. Grouper's is on Thursday nights for the Fish Fry After Party. But I hear it gets very busy and reservations may be needed! They also have live music on Saturday nights.

Mr. Grouper’s Restaurant is an absolute gem in Turks and Caicos! If you’re looking for authentic island cuisine with a laid-back vibe, this is the place to be. It came highly recommended by locals, and it more than lived up to the hype. The grouper fish here is hands down the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, the fish was moist, flaky, and bursting with flavor. I opted for the grilled preparation, paired with their signature coconut curry sauce, which was rich, creamy, and absolutely divine. The sides of rice and peas, along with fresh vegetables, rounded out the meal beautifully. My partner tried the blackened grouper, which was equally amazing, with just the right amount of spice. The ambiance at Mr. Grouper’s is casual and inviting, with friendly staff who make you feel right at home. The outdoor seating area is perfect for enjoying the tropical breeze, and the service was attentive and efficient. If you’re visiting Turks and Caicos, Mr. Grouper’s is a must-visit for an unforgettable dining experience. The grouper fish is a standout dish you simply can’t miss. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!
