Revive by Ark Organics — Restaurant in Kampala

In short: Food that looks good but tastes horrid. I had high hopes for this restaurant based on the reviews. The customer service by phone/WhatsApp was responsive. Everything else was terrible. The “lentil base” for the steak bowl was completely over salted, dry, partially burnt, chalky, and inedible. The steak was also oversalted. Worst of all, the delivery boda driver they sent insisted on a ugx 6000 for a 1.1km delivery charge. The nasty negotiation was a really terrible way to start a meal. I do NOT recommend Revive restaurant.

Edit: Changed to three stars because the manager personally delivered a free replacement meal the next day. Sadly, the food was still subpar and not worth the menu price. Maybe their kitchen staff needs...

I accidentally found this restaurant when I was doing my grocery shopping at Ark Organic next door. I really liked the decoration. The place has a warm and stylish atmosphere and they also have many good vegan/vegetarian options.

They even have a small cute farm outside, and it feels like they might harvest and use some of their own produce, which I really appreciate.

I ordered the jackfruit burger and really enjoyed it. Normally I don’t like when burgers are drowned in sauce, but this one was nicely seasoned and delicious. The only downside was the french fries. They were salty and overly oily for my taste.

Despite that, I definitely want to come back and try other dishes....

Had ordered from Jumia a few times and always loved it, but went on a Thursday night for quiz night with some friends and was very impressed. 2 for 1 cocktails, and lots of fresh, delicious food options at a very reasonable price. Also learned that on Wednesdays and Fridays, wraps are 2 for 1 as well - even on Jumia. So nice that you can also get your grocery shopping done at the same time.
