Dai Pai Dong Restaurant — Restaurant in Abu Dhabi

I swear myself will never ever coming back to this resto again. Was craving over it over years, just to find out it was tottalllyy disaster foods, service and moreover I choose to celebrate my own birthday! :( Such a BIG MISTAKE! Well, learnt from the experience though.

I reserved over reservation no. But my name wasnt there I wasnt allowed to share my Cold Stone ice cream cake, or they need to charge me 200dhs from bringing foods from outside. NO FLEXIBILITY AT ALL WHILE THEIR OWN FOODS ARE DISASTER!!! It was my birthday, and none of the staffs bother to greeted me. I am NOT greedy of fame or acknowledgement, but comm'on, its a 5 stars restaurant, but the service is like cafetaria??? Cafetaria even better at least theyre flexible or giving more bonus over our orders while this whatsover high class restaurant didn't care of their customers at all! And indeed the service was slow and no smile at all!!!! Way over pricey! Small quantity per serving yet the taste is not clear at all what exactly that food was! Cant imagine theyre saying the pork is the fave there, with that kind of taste my Dad can cooks it even better back home! Only thank God the noodle, still acceptable even we ordered 1 more. Only noodle! Among 3 or 4 dishes we ordered. There many yummy Chinese restaurant with cheaper price with better services and flexibilities........

Need improvement really. The place is good but I opt other authentic Chinese restaurants that serve better taste.

JOJO the manager is extremely rude.

We requested we would use the entertainer and Pre ordered our food. One of our guests cancelled.

Showed jojo the evidence and instead of understanding the situation, she clearly told us it is not her problem.

Following this we tried to reason extremely politely and instead of showing any empathy she clearly took advantage to try and increase her sales by making it clear that we cannot use two entertainer vouchers.

Again tried discussing and finally at this stage she again repeated in a robotic manner that it’s not her problem and literally laughed at my face.

This demeaning and frankly rude attitude made us decide to walk away, we paid for our 50aed water bottle and left the restaurant.

This restaurant does not deserve its Michelin star As they clearly have no understanding on what hospitality is and frankly they need to teach their manager JOJO how to deal with people!

It’s not about accepting our request, we were ok to pay, but how she spoke, how she laughed at our face as if someone not showing up because they are sick is somewhat amusing.

Myself and my guests will never enter this establishment again!!

If you want Asian food, please chose a different location where the food will be equally as good but at least you do not need to deal with incompetent staff such as JOJO!

Lovely Chinese restaurant inside the boutique part of the Galleria Mall. Really good food, we enjoyed what we ordered. This restaurant serves pork & alcohol so expect a relatively expensive bill unless you have the entertainer & even then it's still a little over priced, which is the reason it doesn't quite get the 5 stars. The restaurant has a nice ambience with a mixture of standard & high table seating. You can also sit out the front of the restaurant in the mall corridor (we didn't fancy that) or outside on the promenade which is really nice in the evening. Chilled, asian inspired beats playing in the background inside. Great authentic looking interior. We went on a Friday & been a few times in the evening too. This time we should have waited & gone for the Saturday brunch as most of what we ordered was on the brunch menu. The brunch is in the entertainer too. Lots of comments about the service in other reviews. We didn't have a problem, staff seemed attentive & helpful. We were asked after we'd ordered whether we wanted things brought out as they were ready, which we were fine with. That meant though we ended up waiting a while for our duck & had to ask again. No big issue. They brought out a free ice cream unprompted for our daughter which was lovely too....
