Babylon DIFC — Restaurant in Dubai

Booked this restaurant as a 30th birthday dinner, first to note the music was abnormally loud, of course its normal to have music at a restaurant but it was so loud to the point we were communicating via notes app, we were informed the “party” starts at 1am but before that it’s dinner with performances & we have attended dinner shows in the past so had experienced how it goes. But this was not a dinner show because in between each “show” the music was still extremely loud that we couldn’t talk to each other at all without literally shouting. Once the bill arrived as normal we wanted to check that everything on the bill was correct to what we ordered, but because of the loud music it was difficult to do so, so we decided to go up to the reception to settle the bill, upon standing up we were immediately swarmed by waiters and a security guard who wouldn’t allows us to leave the table until we had settled the bill right there and then, just to note our table was in front of the whole restaurant. we told them to kindly escort us upstairs so we can settle the bill they refused and blocked us from leaving. Our table was the front row in the middle of the restaurant, they caused a big huge scene for us and the birthday girl left crying, because of how they made her feel. One of us went upstairs to speak the lady at the door to talk about settling the bill whilst the others were forced to stay in the down section of the restaurant and settle the bill. The lady upstairs told us it was okay to pay at the reception desk and said they are probably acting like that because they had run aways before, it was explained that we had asked them to escort us upstairs to pay and that there was a credit card attached the table when booking, so there was no reason to treat us that way. The lady was very apologetic but it still completely ruined the experience for all. Would not recommend coming here unless wanted to be treated like a criminal.
