the worst service in Dubai.. Frustrating and disappointing. Terrible experience. 21.03.24
I've been living in Dubai for ten years. I chose this place because I wanted to celebrate my birthday. (I mentioned this when booking a table )I wanted Russian hospitality, as they say . The last time we were in this restaurant was probably six or seven years ago, I don’t remember exactly, they had just opened it. We really liked it.So we decided to celebrate my "wonderful" day there. We booked a table at 8:00pm second floor , terrace . I came with a friend so that she could try Russian cuisine and enjoy Russian hospitality.
I have no complaints about the kitchen. Tasty. We ordered: •salmon tartare 155drh -2 portions •salmon pelmeni 75drh-1 •beef pelmemi 55drh - •a bottle of white wine Riesling , can't remember something around 400drh • Negroni 75drh -1 •Aperol spritz 70drh -5 •Still water
I don't know . But when we were there a long time ago, it seemed to me that the place looked comfortable, pleasant... beautiful? the atmosphere was amazing. Now the karaoke bar smells like an old cheap pub. The terrace looks dull...empty...no soul. I didn't even take pictures.
A non-Russian waiter started serving us, no issue ,he was polite and attentive. BUT .WHAT happened to the Russian speaking staff (Guys )???They walk around with a straight, irritated face, look at you as if they are doing you a favor .Constant feeling of a judgmental gaze. it's written on their face how much they hate their job . We asked the waiter how the karaoke system works, if someone wants to order a song. We were told that we had a table reserved on the terrace and not in a karaoke bar, so one song will cost you 3000 AED. I replied that it expensive. The waiter immediately turned around with a look of disgust. Another waiter brought a drink, he was surprised that my friend did not speak Russian (we had been sitting for two hours already), he threw a rude look at her and left, after which my friend felt uncomfortable.
Usually when you come to a restaurant for your birthday, especially in Dubai, there will always be some kind of attention let's say in the form of a cake . A little damn piece of cake. We waited, but no miracle happened. We called the waiter and ordered a piece of happiness at our expense. While waiting . At the same time, we heard that another Russian person was celebrating a birthday, knowing this, we wanted to send them a cake as a sign of kindness and celebration of wonderful people under one roof. I miss Russians, it was kinda nice to see so many of them there . The waiter did not understand such a kind gesture at first. Then he understood. And here comes the main frustration of this place. Boss . .... a young man who spoke Russian came and said that he was a manager, saying in a cold, mannered tone that he wouldn't do this. He said the restaurant had already given a cake to those people and my cake would be inappropriate. And he just left . Leaving me feeling like if a bucket of rubbish was poured on me. I felt disrespected . I have a kind soul, so I wanted to do something nice for that person who has the same day birthday as me .
Ah yes , in meanwhile I'm still waiting for my poor cake .
After such disgusting behavior , I decided to cancel the cake and call for the bill . I didn't want to blow out the candle in such a callous place. I was very embarrassed on front of my friend, because I brought her to a Russian restaurant hoping for a good lovely atmosphere and a warm, famous warm Russian welcome. In fact, rude and unprofessional staff .They quickly brought the bill , without sorry .They ruined my birthday evening
For the owner it’s essential for restaurants to prioritize customer satisfaction and make sure their staff are trained to provide excellent service. This includes being friendly, attentive, and responsive to customers’ needs and requests. Rude staff -red flag for...

I was recently invited here for a food tasting to try out new dishes from their menu. I've never had Russian cuisine before, so I didn't know what to expect but I was excited. Located at The Pointe and has views of the beautiful Atlantis. The decor is simply gorgeous with their interiors and artwork, representing the Russian culture. Besides the restaurant, they are very big on karaoke. The karaoke lounge is open till 5am.
For starters, we had, Assorted Vareniki - they were dumplings with potato & mushroom and cherry & cottage cheese filling, served with sour cream. The cherry and cottage cheese was new for us, but both were equally delicious. Garden Salad - the salad came with a sour cream dressing and topped with an egg. Very fresh and tasted just amazing. Beef Carpaccio - very tender and juicy. The parmesan was a great addition to the dish. Smoked Roast Beef - again, very tender and tasted so good with the mustard dip.
For main courses, we had Pozharskaya Cutlet - this was a total hit for me. It's a pan-fried chicken cutlet with cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes. I've never had this combination before but it tasted amazing. Highly recommend this. Beef Cheeks - I was a bit hesitant to try this, but again, I was amazed. Such tender beef, and tasted really good. Buckwheat with Mushrooms - loved the taste of this.
For dessert, we had Syrniki - cottage cheese cakes with sour cream and berry sauce. The sour cream was so fresh and amazing. The berry sauce added a great kick to the whole dish. We also tried the crepes with a jam dip and a condensed milk dip. That was just amazing.
For drinks, we had a Virgin Colada and a Pure Passion Mocktail. The colada is one of the best I've had. The pure passion was also quite good.
I will highly recommend this place. A huge shoutout to Silvia (the manager) and Dmitri (our server) - very friendly...
