Crystal Bar — Restaurant in Dubai

Openly racist establishment. I went there for a drink. As I was scanning the menu, a waitress came to my table and asked to see my ID. I thought this was about age, but clearly it was about where I was from. She looked at my passport for some time then took it to who I presume is the supervisor/manager. After some time she came back to my table and told me they cannot serve me and that I should leave. I asked her why and she said it’s because I’m not Emirati and they only serve Emiratis. I know this is not true because I have many non-Emirati friends from Europe and other Arab countries that go there pretty frequently. It was very obvious why I was being asked to leave. I was not welcome there because of what I look like(colour-wise) and where I’m from. This is clearly a racist establishment that only welcomes Arabs and Caucasians. Wow! Was walking by this bar which is located in the Grand Millenium hotel in Al Barsha and heard an absolutely incredible voice and had to go in to see the face behind the voice!

The bar atmosphere is lovely and the service was wonderful! And to top it all off, there’s a passionate pianist with a voice of an angel! His voice reminded me of Sinatra. I don’t remember how many languages he sang in! I remember hearing Italian, English, Spanish, French, Russian and I believe Indian as well!! There were more languages but can’t remember them all!

Will be going back just to enjoy his performance. Truly a phenomenal ambience and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quality, elegant evening with friends or alone. Seriously the pianist was amazing. Not a normal or standard pianist. It was just a whole other ball game!

We have been a regular here at Crystal and for years now, we have always been looked after by Stella. I highly suggest to keep her in the morning shift and not to evening shift please.

Please don’t bring the other lady here in the morning. Coz no Stella here in the morning, service is bad, sorry…

She is more welcoming and warm. And literally takes care of us. Always makes things happen any request I ask. Plus, no attitude, no negative vibe.

I understand there are times she has to take PH offs and regular off, that’s fine but please, I say it again, keep Stella in morning shift and not the other way around.

She deserves company recognition. Dedication to her work and making clients happy? This is something great and truly special. She’s the Best you’ve got.
