As one of the newest restaurants in Dubai Mall, I would suggest giving it a while more for it to work through its teething problems.
We arrived at 1pm and the restaurant was not full. The service staff told us to sit at a 4-seater table very near the entrance. I asked if we could sit nearer to the middle of the restaurant but she immediately told me that we could not, because there were only 6 seaters left inside (we are 3 pax). Trusting her words, I walked towards the table near the entrance. However my parents took a quick glance around and they saw A LOT of 4-seater tables. This is seriously TERRIBLE AND UNWARRANTED. I don’t know why she would tell me there is no table for us inside when there is. When we pointed it out to her again, she sheepishly and unwillingly guided us inside and told us to choose our own 4-seater table (there are at least seven or eight other 4-seater tables). This absolutely ruined my mood, but because of the branding, we decided to continue with our meal here.
We were served by a stone-faced waitress who seriously needs more training in service. Placed our bottled water down on the table then walked away instead of serving us our water. Not sure if this is the practice but I saw she properly served other tables. When we couldn’t open the bottle, we asked if she could open it for us. It looked like she was annoyed and did it unwillingly, and only poured one glass of water then she placed the bottle down (again, there are 3 of us). We helped ourselves for the rest. Either she pours all or don’t pour. We are fine to serve ourselves but what is the meaning of her pouring just one and setting it down again?
We also ordered an Australian wagyu steak. After she walked away with our orders, I noticed on the menu that it says we can choose our side and our sauce. As she did not ask us what sides or sauce we wanted, I decided ask her what are our options. She curtly replied that we do not have a choice on the sides, we can only take fries. Then for the sauce, it will come with herbed butter. She also said if we really wanted more sauce, she can give us mushroom too. I was only asking for options but she made it sound like I was asking beyond what I should be asking. Absolutely absurd and rubbish of a waitress.
We also ordered a frito misto that did not arrive (I think they served it to the wrong table but forgot about ours). They took it off our bill so it isn’t an issue.
The mushroom soup we ordered was way too salty. It got to the point where we couldn’t drink any more. It was VERY VERY hard to get the attention of the service crew if you are seated far away from the entrance area. I believe they are quite understaffed but the staff don’t feel like they are putting in effort to glance around the restaurant periodically. I believe this is another teething problem that will resolve itself.
Finally, when I waved my hand to ask for the bill, the same waitress just looked straight at me, did not acknowledge, then proceeded to walk to another table to continue cleaning it. I was left wondering if she saw me gesturing for the bill. Turns out she did. She just did not acknowledge. Just a blank look. One of the worst (if not the worst) service we received in Dubai.
The only saving grace is the manager (or at least I think she is the manager. She’s not wearing a uniform but was serving tables). Huge huge smiles from her throughout the service of our and other tables. Just an overall pleasant experience with her even though it was just short interactions.
For a celebrity restaurant like this, we would have expected better service. I think the service crew needs to...

sitting now , having my skins on and enjoying of every bit of food.
i remember Jamie’s first exit on TV with his culinary shows when i was a teenager. his passion to natural, simple and delicious food combos made its way to a wider public and i am very glad to eat at his restaurant in the middle of the Dubai Mall.
so far my special favorites are Ceasar salad, with yoghurt based dressing. which makes it light weight, delicious and mouth watering.
arabiata chicken wings or squid rings as a starter, curiously served chill giant olives , must try!
for mains as i dont eat red meat for many years i opt for delicious chicken breast, mounted on top of home-tasting mashed potatoes with truffle sauce all over the plate.
even just side mashed potato with shaved truffles tastes fantastic.
pizza is great, delicious thin dough, nice fillings and toppings.
today we tried special roasted half chicken with Moroccan herbs and spices for AED 119 nad it is wow.
for water they serve Acqua Panna or San Pel.
coffee is ok. tea is nice. lovely place for family dinner or just couple outing. atmosphere is cozy, music is hearable but not annoying somehow.
LG level, just close to Tim Hortons and below Apple store.
thanks for reading, like and subscribe for more...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Jamie’s Italian in The Dubai Mall, and it was an experience to remember. The restaurant’s inviting atmosphere, combined with its prime location on the Lower Ground Floor, makes it a must-visit spot for both locals and tourists.
The menu offers a delightful array of Italian classics, all crafted with the high-quality ingredients that Jamie Oliver is renowned for. I opted for the Famous Prawn Linguine, which featured garlicky prawns in a rich tomato sauce, perfectly complemented by fresh fennel and rocket. The balance of flavors was impeccable, making each bite a true delight.
The service was exceptional, with the staff displaying a genuine warmth and attentiveness that enhanced the overall dining experience. Despite the bustling environment of The Dubai Mall, the restaurant provided a cozy and relaxed setting, allowing for an enjoyable meal amidst the city’s vibrant energy.
For those seeking authentic Italian cuisine in Dubai, Jamie’s Italian is a top choice. Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty pasta dish or a light salad, the diverse menu caters to all palates. I highly recommend visiting and indulging in the culinary delights they...
