Our order included ~
~ Drinks : Started with drinks first.
• Masala shikanji : Tradition Indian version of lemonade. The spices or masala in this sweet and salty lemony drink makes it different from normal lemonade. • Mango Lassi : It was thick , smooth and creamy with delicious blend of mangoes and yoghurt. • Oreo milk shake : One of the ideal sweet treat and kids’ favourite.
~ Soups :
• Tamatar dhaniya shorba and Munchow soup : Both were awesome. Tamatar dhaniya shorba was an appetising delight with flavour from fresh coriander. The hot and spicy munchow soup was perfect in taste.
~ Chats :
• Khau galli special chaat platter: A wooden platter in mini bed shape with pani puri, bhel puri, sev puri , charmur, vada pav and dahi puri. It was amazing.
• Bombay Veg sandwich : These sandwiches were spiced with green chutney, filled with fresh veggies, cheddar cheese and grilled to perfection. A must try.
~ Starters : • Tandoori Veg platter: A huge platter with paneer tikka , malai paneer tikka, malai broccoli, tandoori mashroom and tandoori stuffed aloo . All of these were flavourful. I liked the malai broccoli and tandoori stuffed aloo very much.
~ Lite bites :
• Mysore Masala Dosa : One of the most popular South Indian street food. The dosa was crisp and soft with potato dish stuffed inside. The coconut chutney served along with it was very tasty. • Cheesy maggi masala: Maggi cooked to perfection with spicy masala, garnished with onion rings, tomatoes and topped with cheddar cheese. Reminded me of my college days.
~ Main Course :
• Oriental sizzler platter: Paneer cubes and veggies in Manchurian sauce served with stirred fried rice and noodles accompanied with fresh fries on a sizzler plate. • Makki di roti and Sarson ka sag: A wonderful combo and my all time favourite. It was served with butter and jaggery. • Taka tak tawa pulao: Popular Bombay street food with rice and veggies sautéed together with masala, herbs and spices garnished on top with cheddar cheese. It had a lovely smoky flavour.
~ Desserts:
• Brownie with ice cream: Enjoyed chocolate brownie topped with ice cream on a sizzler plate. • Jalebi with Rabri: This freshly made piping hot jalebi was delicious with Rabri. Jalebi was crispy outside and juicy inside.

Read moreKhau Galli restaurant in JLT has great potential to literally transport its patrons to food streets of India by its lip smacking street style food. The place has both indoor Bollywood theme colourful seating as well as well lit outdoor seating overlooking the lake. The whole place exude vibrancy both in its ambiance and food they offer.
Starting onto food, we tried their chaat platter, masala Maggi, Bollywood pizza, khau galli special pasta. Presentation of chaat platter on a charpai was a great eye pleaser and its taste certainly justifies its look. A huge platter easily shareable between 3-4 people and a perfect sampler to taste varied chaat items they offer. My personal favourite from the platter was the vada pav which was very fresh, apt spiciness and tasted superb. I love binging on Maggi and the masala Maggi served here was perfect balance of spiceness n taste, just the way I like it. Their special pasta was yummy, too saucy, a desi version not the authentic one but would definitely keep you longing for more. Veg pizza was just okay types, loaded with cheese but nothing great to talk about.
Moving on I tasted their veg grill platter which was mix of assorted kebabs including malai broccoli, two flavours of paneer Tikka, grilled mushrooms n grilled baby potatoes. Portion was decent, all tasted fine n went perfectly well with the chutney alongside. The broccoli was little undone but the taste was good. Oriental sizzler was a great mix of rice/noodles along with cottage cheese in yummy sauces along with fries. It offers a perfect desi style street food taste.
For desserts, we had Gulab jamun, gajar halwa, jalebi with rabdi. Each dessert was better than other and was so sumptuous that we hogged onto it lovingly. Special mention for their crispy n thin jalebi that paired with mild sweet rabdi, that's the foodie match made in heaven. Staff was attentive and the service was very swift. Lastly, we wrapped up our delectable meal with kulhad wali chai and for a tea loving person like me it was refreshingly so good. They have good variety of decorative Diwali sweet boxes, dry fruit boxes along with Diya selection, marigold strings n mats etc on display which certainly is a great one stop shop for dine in and shop for the upcoming festive occasion.
Overall, this place is a perfect neighbourhood spot to catch up with some friends over a hearty chatpata desi treat without burning a hole in the pocket. Most definitely...

This place can change your mood from being dull to being bright in just a few milli seconds.🥰😋 Lets talk about: "Ambiance"🤩 The outside ambiance is mesmerizing as the restaurant is located just near the lakes in JLT and is surrounded by skyscrapers. We'd really love to sit outside when the weather becomes more suitable. The ambiance inside will give you goosebumps if you are Indian or any national who follows Bollywood. The walls inside are filled with famous Bollywood dialogues and legendary actors portraits on the walls. We loved everything about the interior even the counter is amazingly decorated using a front of truck and a rickshaw.
Also, the menu was superb, you have a gotta give it to the graphic designers.
