KHAU GALLI : Located in cluster T , JLT serves some authentic Indian street foods. They have a lot varieties to offer on the menu with the dishes are uniquely named with Bollywood theme.

Our order included ~

~ Drinks : Started with drinks first.

• Masala shikanji : Tradition Indian version of lemonade. The spices or masala in this sweet and salty lemony drink makes it different from normal lemonade. • Mango Lassi : It was thick , smooth and creamy with delicious blend of mangoes and yoghurt. • Oreo milk shake : One of the ideal sweet treat and kids’ favourite.

~ Soups :

• Tamatar dhaniya shorba and Munchow soup : Both were awesome. Tamatar dhaniya shorba was an appetising delight with flavour from fresh coriander. The hot and spicy munchow soup was perfect in taste.

~ Chats :

• Khau galli special chaat platter: A wooden platter in mini bed shape with pani puri, bhel puri, sev puri , charmur, vada pav and dahi puri. It was amazing.

• Bombay Veg sandwich : These sandwiches were spiced with green chutney, filled with fresh veggies, cheddar cheese and grilled to perfection. A must try.

~ Starters : • Tandoori Veg platter: A huge platter with paneer tikka , malai paneer tikka, malai broccoli, tandoori mashroom and tandoori stuffed aloo . All of these were flavourful. I liked the malai broccoli and tandoori stuffed aloo very much.

~ Lite bites :

• Mysore Masala Dosa : One of the most popular South Indian street food. The dosa was crisp and soft with potato dish stuffed inside. The coconut chutney served along with it was very tasty. • Cheesy maggi masala: Maggi cooked to perfection with spicy masala, garnished with onion rings, tomatoes and topped with cheddar cheese. Reminded me of my college days.

~ Main Course :

• Oriental sizzler platter: Paneer cubes and veggies in Manchurian sauce served with stirred fried rice and noodles accompanied with fresh fries on a sizzler plate. • Makki di roti and Sarson ka sag: A wonderful combo and my all time favourite. It was served with butter and jaggery. • Taka tak tawa pulao: Popular Bombay street food with rice and veggies sautéed together with masala, herbs and spices garnished on top with cheddar cheese. It had a lovely smoky flavour.

~ Desserts:

• Brownie with ice cream: Enjoyed chocolate brownie topped with ice cream on a sizzler plate. • Jalebi with Rabri: This freshly made piping hot jalebi was delicious with Rabri. Jalebi was crispy outside and juicy inside.

Ambience was amazing with nicely arranged indoor seating with Bollywood themed interiors and outdoor seating with lake view. Some humorous Bollywood filmy dialogues were beautifully painted on the walls. The staff were very attentive and the service was top class. Highly recommended and a must...

Khau Galli restaurant in JLT has great potential to literally transport its patrons to food streets of India by its lip smacking street style food. The place has both indoor Bollywood theme colourful seating as well as well lit outdoor seating overlooking the lake. The whole place exude vibrancy both in its ambiance and food they offer.

Starting onto food, we tried their chaat platter, masala Maggi, Bollywood pizza, khau galli special pasta. Presentation of chaat platter on a charpai was a great eye pleaser and its taste certainly justifies its look. A huge platter easily shareable between 3-4 people and a perfect sampler to taste varied chaat items they offer. My personal favourite from the platter was the vada pav which was very fresh, apt spiciness and tasted superb. I love binging on Maggi and the masala Maggi served here was perfect balance of spiceness n taste, just the way I like it. Their special pasta was yummy, too saucy, a desi version not the authentic one but would definitely keep you longing for more. Veg pizza was just okay types, loaded with cheese but nothing great to talk about.

Moving on I tasted their veg grill platter which was mix of assorted kebabs including malai broccoli, two flavours of paneer Tikka, grilled mushrooms n grilled baby potatoes. Portion was decent, all tasted fine n went perfectly well with the chutney alongside. The broccoli was little undone but the taste was good. Oriental sizzler was a great mix of rice/noodles along with cottage cheese in yummy sauces along with fries. It offers a perfect desi style street food taste.

For desserts, we had Gulab jamun, gajar halwa, jalebi with rabdi. Each dessert was better than other and was so sumptuous that we hogged onto it lovingly. Special mention for their crispy n thin jalebi that paired with mild sweet rabdi, that's the foodie match made in heaven. Staff was attentive and the service was very swift. Lastly, we wrapped up our delectable meal with kulhad wali chai and for a tea loving person like me it was refreshingly so good. They have good variety of decorative Diwali sweet boxes, dry fruit boxes along with Diya selection, marigold strings n mats etc on display which certainly is a great one stop shop for dine in and shop for the upcoming festive occasion.

Overall, this place is a perfect neighbourhood spot to catch up with some friends over a hearty chatpata desi treat without burning a hole in the pocket. Most definitely...

Follow us on Instagram @thevegetariancouple for more. This place can change your mood from being dull to being bright in just a few milli seconds.🥰😋 Lets talk about: "Ambiance"🤩 The outside ambiance is mesmerizing as the restaurant is located just near the lakes in JLT and is surrounded by skyscrapers. We'd really love to sit outside when the weather becomes more suitable. The ambiance inside will give you goosebumps if you are Indian or any national who follows Bollywood. The walls inside are filled with famous Bollywood dialogues and legendary actors portraits on the walls. We loved everything about the interior even the counter is amazingly decorated using a front of truck and a rickshaw.

Also, the menu was superb, you have a gotta give it to the graphic designers.

We hope we aren't revealing too much about the place.😍 Now, Lets talk about the best part: "Food" 🥘 🍽

We ordered chaat platter, khau galli veg platter, oriental sizzler, gulab jamun, mango lassi and tea.

That's a lot of food isn't it, well thanks to the restaurant for being generous and letting us taste all these delicious dishes, desserts and beverages.

  1. Chaat Platter: All the items we got in chaat platter were yummy and we of course were able to finish everything.
  2. Khau galli veg platter: (Our fav): We loved the sauces which were used with panner, broccoli and mushroom. The paneer was so tender and super yummy. There were 3 types of sauces used and we loved 2 out of those.(of course we couldn't Finnish everything).
  3. Oriental platter: It was very tasty, especially the fried rice with Manchurian gravy (We just did the tasting and asked for take away).
  4. Desserts : Gulab Jamun was very Delhi. It was served hot and we wanted more but of course we had to be in limit. lol
  5. Beverages: Chai and Mango lassi both were perfect and it is upto your preference in the summer. One of us always goes for the chai but one of us likes to have lot of lassi and chach during the summers. "Staff And Hygiene"👏🏻💪🏻 Overall all the staff members were very good but santosh was best as he made sure we receive our food on time and the hygiene was top class. 100% recommended! 5/5...

I am delighted to post my first review of the year for Khau Galli. I would firstly like to thank Mr. Aswin Pillai for inviting me for a bloggers review at Khau Galli. Khau galli, means Street food in English is usually popular for lip-smacking street food in the city. This place aptly located at Cluster T, serves all kinds of Indian food varying from South Indian, north Indian, chaats and sizzlers ! They have an open air seating facing the lake and their vibrant interiors are inspired by famous Bollywood personalities. Coming to the food; we were initially served with their famous chaat platter, which had a wide assortment of chaats- Pani Puri, Basket bhel, Sev Puri, Dahi Puri. Each and every chaat item was delectable. This was followed my their colorful Tandoori platter which had a wide variety of Paneer Tikkas, stuffed aloo chaat, Barbequed Mushrooms and Tandoori Broccoli. Paneer was soft and creamy. Rest of the items were decorous. Our starters were accompanied with a wide array of Beverages such as; Masaledaar Soda Shikanji, Fresh sugarcane juice, Coconut water, Rose Lassi and their famous cutting chai. All their drinks were refreshing and the chai just had the right amount of Masala ! The highlight of the evening were Oriental sizzlers and Khaugalli Special pasta. Oriental Sizzler was a combination of Rice Noodles mix served with Chilli Paneer gravy and French Fries. Pasta was cheesy, creamy and saucy. Both the dishes were appetizing and a palatable. Street food is incomplete without relishing on an Ice gola- Made with crushed ice, and drizzled with fruity toppings. The gola actually transported me back to my childhood days. Our dining experience ended with sweet treats from Khau galli, where we were served with Fruit cream, Sitafal Cream, Sizzling Brownie and Jalebi Rabri. The Fruit cream and the Sitafal cream were delightfully rich. Sizzling Brownie aptly played the role of satisfying our Chocolate cravings. Jalebi Rabri was incredible in taste since their Jalebis were small and easy to bite on. If ever you want to satisfy your food cravings head to Khau Galli to enjoy a Desi Breezy evening with luscious food !
