Nice new-ish Chinese Malaysian restaurant on JLT. Plenty of parking available, this cluster has most of the open air parking spots for public use, with plenty of the premium 393I spots so that the hoggers are deterred. JLT has this stupid one way system so depending on where you come from it could be an unnecessary longer drive.
They nailed the vibe, from the menu fonts to the big round tables with the dumb waiters. Just missing some red, perhaps a conscious choice which is a refreshing take imo.
We had the hor fun, salted egg chicken and curry squid. Hor fun: enough for 1.5 persons, good taste and consistency, just needs a pinch more salt imo. Curry squid: flavorful, though for the price I would’ve liked a bit more squid. Salted egg chicken: decent taste, but not enough salted egg. I tried another restaurant with a salted egg dish, same issue. I think they can’t get this stuff in bulk. Given those limitations, it’s good for what it is. For drinks we had a bottled water and iced coffee.
The waiters are trained to clear dishes as soon as you’re finished with them, this is mostly due to how you eat here - a lot of smaller dishes, more than can be put on the table at once.
The bill came up to 135aed, less than 70 per pax. Quite affordable. Overall recommended, won’t be our usual joint because of the hassle of getting here but we’ll come again...
Read moreAsian Culinary Masterpiece in JLT! We recently dined at this incredible Oriental Fusion restaurant, and it was unforgettable! The food, from the first bite to the last, was a symphony of flavors. Every dish was a testament to the chef's mastery, one of the best of Malay authentic cuisines. The ingredients were fresh, the presentation was beautiful, and the taste was simply flawless. A perfect 5-star for the culinary team! Too bad when I visited it was like seafood season on the menu and hainanese chicken was not available.
While the food and service were perfect, the atmosphere was a 4-star. The space is well-maintained and clean, but it feels a bit more functional than a destination for a special occasion. It's great for a casual dinner or a quick bite, but lacks that intimate or grand ambiance that would elevate the entire experience to another level.
Despite this, the service was impeccable, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. The staff were excellent at guiding us through the menu and ensuring our needs were met promptly.
Overall, if you're looking for an exceptional dining experience where the food is the absolute star of the show, this is the place to be. The food is a solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and we will definitely be returning for another...
Read moreA really nice place to enjoy good quality Asian (mainly Chinese and Malaysian) cuisine. First time for me to walk in and surely not the last.
Service - Very welcoming and hospitable. Knowledgeable with menu, food and availability on the day. Timing from order to service was very quick. The complimentary veg soup was a nice touch.
Quality of Food - Hainanse chicken rice- opted for the steam chicken. The rice could improve in flavor but very satisfying and super generous portion size. Steamed chicken was better than expected and the sauce on chicken and sambal on side quite good, savory and spicy.
Malaysia kang kon- Fresh and sambal spicy. Couldn’t get better
Mixed vegetables- Found seafood and chicken in it but wasn’t an issue. Quite fresh and and a good bite on the veggies. Enjoyed the flavors. Again generous portion size for a small.
Ambiance- Decent. Nothing great but decent enough to enjoy good quality food.
Value for money- 10/10 Decently priced and worth every dirham.
Next- Nasi Lemak Available on Saturdays. And many more...
