While their moto on their outdated website boasts "Original Egyptian Traditional Food" I guess reality bites. The first dish was "Moussakaa tagine" with béchamel (3/10), I've never seen a Moussakaa without tomato sauce before? Even their menu states that is has tomato sauce but it doesn't exist in the dish. It was a Moussakaa with béchamel, loads of cheese and tones of fat, without a trace of tomato sauce. With the delivery the dish got knocked out to its side in the bag, so by the time it arrived you can see half a litre of fat on one side of the dish. It looked so bad that there was no point of taking a photo. The dish came with rice and a large thin Lebanese pita bread not Egyptian bread, salad, and different types of pickles and a tahini The Moussakaa was bland, it wasn't seasoned at all. Very very disappointing. My favorite dish ruined.

The Hawawshi arrived soaked in fat, the bread was soggy, as soon as you hold it the sandwich falls apart. Another disappointing experience. It came with french fries, tahini, and pickles.

Making the order through Talabat it said 90 minutes for delivery, I thought it is a good sign, their food will be freshly cooked. They definitely need an experienced Chef, who doesn't forget to add tomatoes to the Moussakaa. It was my first time order from Al Sukaria and...

For Iftar this weekend I went with my family to Al Sukaria Restaurant & Cafe located in Dubai Marina. This restaurant serves authentic Egyptian food and wide variety of shisha flavors. They have an amazing Open Buffet Iftar with every dish tasting like it’s home made with mother’s love. The buffet consists of a wide variety of Arabic & Egyptian dishes including the most delicious Dolma, Lamb Ouzi, Stuffed Pigeon,Chicken , Lasagne, Pasta, Moutabel, Fatayer and Moulokhiya and lots of other yummy dishes. The salad station has lots of mix salads and there is so many delicious desserts like Umm Ali, Kunafa,Basbousa, Arabic pastries and many Arabic sweets to choose from. They have wide variety of shisha flavors and the special one is fire shisha 🔥which is a must try The restaurant has lots of seating and beautiful views of Marina.
