Awful food, it’s actually insane that this place got Michelin rate somehow. I mean everything I tried in Dubai was better, including the fact that food in Dubai is awful at all. After all we got extra charged for 50+ Dirhams. All portions are very small and not tasty. Wasabi 😂, i know that real Was is only in Japan, but this one was so soooo bad, like it cost 1$ for 1kg. I never recommend anyone to waste your time here. 1/10, I’m the owner of 3 Michelin restaurants in Moscow, I will ask Michelin to double check this place, it’s not even deserving a Macdonalds rate. We ordered 5 different dishes, all of it was awful. (Undercooked, Spicy when it should not be, and not even spicy when it should, awful cheap tempura, cheap prawns, cheap salmon, cheap syrups for mocktails. No one of waiters is paying attention on you, host is not on reception, not even saying “Hello” and “Goodbye”. The little boy with family on another table got a birthday, they started to burn candle right in front of their table (that’s so fuuny), He actually did burn a candle right in front of his face (so waiter doesn’t even no elementary service rules and regulations). Guys you are absolutely disgusting and I promise this is the last Michelin rate you got this year.
Final for readers of this commentary. Remember! Good food restaurant has 1-2 pages Menu. Better when 1. This one has a book of 50 pages with all photos of their dishes and all they look nice and pretty (this is the first two patterns of bad food restaurants and they have both of them: big menu, food pictures) Sorry for that kind of angry review, but this is 2000% deserved guys.
Atmosphere 9/10 Service 0/10 Food 0/10
Just close this and open McDonald’s, It will attract more guests. Overall people in Dubai don’t even no what is good food tastes like, they’ve never been to Italy, Spain or Shanghai. People who are writing good reviews here are just McDonald’s raised fools, who never tried really good food. Just prays of marketing with low...

Read moreI recently dined at MayaBay Dubai, and it was an experience I won’t soon forget. Drawing inspiration from the dreamy island destination in Thailand, the restaurant truly lives up to its name. Having heard about its origins in Monaco, where it first opened in 2005 and quickly gained a reputation as one of the French Riviera’s top restaurants, I was excited to see how it translated to Dubai. Spoiler alert: it exceeded my expectations.
The location is stunning, nestled right in Jumeirah Al Naseem’s picturesque turtle lagoon. The setting alone sets the tone for the evening—a mix of tranquility and understated luxury. But what really captivated me was the interior design. It felt like stepping into an exotic oasis, with intricate details that blend Thai and Japanese influences beautifully.
As for the food? Absolutely phenomenal. MayaBay’s unique interpretation of Thai and Japanese cuisines shines through in every dish. The menu is extensive, and I found myself wanting to try everything. Highlights for me were the Wagyu beef Thai green curry and the miso-marinated black cod. The balance of flavors in each dish was impeccable—rich, yet delicate.
Service was just as exceptional as the food. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, ready to recommend dishes and provide insights into the ingredients and preparation.
DJ and party atmosphere that really elevate the experience. By the time dinner transitions into the later hours, the music picks up, and the space transforms into a lively, upscale party scene. The DJ was amazing, playing a mix of upbeat tracks that kept the energy high without feeling...
