Worse beyond expectations.
My fiance wished to through me birthday surprise they messed it up big time. she called multiple times to book table by the beach for dinner and was told its not to be booked its to be served when available upon arrival. she asked for corner table and requested happy birthday with my name for dessert.
up on arrival we were given table right in the centre of restaurant next to speakers to have no conversation. it took a bit while to bring menus, i saw one or two table available by the beach and asked if possible to shift there, wait staff politely refused saying its. reserved. my fiance was angry but she didnt say anything we ordered waited for very average food for half an hour, more or less with uncertain serve.
we couldnt even talk to each other because speaker were just above our head so i requested multiple people to give us table next to beach and one after another they said somebody would attend you. Ksenia finally got permission from heaven to move. we moved and now drinks and food left behind on other table :-D :-D :-D
Funny i didnt feel they were that busy, however, when we shifted one of new staff very polite and friendly kept on checking on us if we needed anything. when we finally needed dessert as it was requested by my fiance i dont remember what she ordered. it didnt come. i wasnt aware there is dessert requested so i asked for bill from restaurant manager which took them 20 minutes to bring meanwhile my fiance were hopeful 20 minutes are for dessert.
no courtesy of dessert even after multiple calls and notes before we were leaving she did bring it to their attention and we were told i am not aware by hostess i wont name.
No apology or whatsoever. definitely not to go again place.

Read moreI hate writing bad reviews because I don’t like the impact it can have on someone’s job or business. However, sometimes reviews are necessary to call out a fundamental problem especially when there is aggressiveness and disrespect.
The reception desk staff at Shimmers is rude and unwelcoming including the lead receptionist (Russian female).
I kindly asked for a table in the shades because one of my guests cannot be in the sun due to a recent skin procedure. They refused to accommodate me without further explanation .
I escalated to a manager called Robert Souter. He explained that he can’t lock a table for me as it’s first come first serve but he will try his best to accommodate my request.
I thanked him for kindness and his explanation but asked that his lead receptionist apologizes for her rude and unwelcoming behaviour.
He immediately refused my request or even tried to investigate what actually happened. He claimed that she is amazing and there must be a misunderstanding.
On a serious note, he crossed the line when he threatened to kick me out of the restaurant if I post this Google review. I was shocked and disappointed with such aggressive behaviour.
If anyone works in luxury or hospitality, you’d know that the customer is always right and if the customer felt disrespected, that’s enough of a proof to investigate what truly happened and follow up on the matter.
This is not luxury or Dubai level hospitality. They should be ashamed of themselves. I will never come back despite the great food and beautiful scenery. I refuse to be intimidated by a manager when I am exercising my legal right.
