Nice place, but very pink decor might not be everyone's cup of tea. Me and my two friends met for a lunch break during work. After checking the menu and working out the vegan options we placed our orders. Cafe wasn't busy. It was us and two other people who came after us. Coffee was lovely, nicely balanced. However we waited ages for our food (croissant sandwich, vegan option sandwich and bubble waffle). After receiving my croissant (which I must say was really good, but took about 15-20min to make) I expected my friends receiving their food as well. Unfortunately, customers who ordered after us been served in meantime. After waiting about 40 mins my friends had to ask staff to put their order in box for takeaway (once it will be ready) as we couldn't stay any longer, so I'm not even sure they enjoyed their food... After checking the bill I realised they didn't bill us correctly. We payed over 50% less then what we should. We were kind enough pointing this to the girls and asked them to correct the bill as it would be shame for new businesses to loose it over girls mistake (or lack of communication?). I know it's a new businesses, the girls were young (although very nice) and probably without much of experience but our overall experience wasn't what we expected from new cafe. It can be a nice place in the city centre, but they have lots to work on especially with huge competition around. Waiting time for simple food in a cafe really surprised us, and prices aren't the...
Read moreReally lovely service from start to finish, making sure we were comfortable and warm. Fab pink interior with lovely flowers etc and suitable atmospheric music.
The Asian style food we had was EXCELLENT. We had the Deshi breakfast and fuchka which were both spicy, fresh and DELICIOUS. The breakfast includes a chai latte and syrup dessert. We wish we had tried more of this food as it was SO good.
We reckon they could remove a lot of the random 'british' food, and really show their speciality food off a bit more, as clearly some talented chefs behind the scenes.🙌
I wouldn't recommend the beetroot latte, although tasted ok, £7.99 for some pink milk with a little ginger felt a bit expensive, matcha at £6.99 also limited me trying too much, often I would have a few 🤣
The loss of star is purely down to the fact the menu is a little confusing. The pictures are great, but due to not understanding what was in some of 'less British' dishes were, stopped me ordering as much, such a shame as the meals we did try were delicious.🩵
It would be great to maybe have two menus, one more 'British' and one more 'Asian', with both a wee description of the food , aside the...
Read moreWe walked in on the off chance for an early lunch as we were passing the door. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we stepped in and portable heaters were brought to our table to warm us up after stepping in from a cold winters day. They have a new more extensive menu which is currently only available to view online as the new menu cards haven't been printed yet so there is now an added selection of Bangladeshi Street food dishes to choose from. We opted for the chotpoti, fuchka and some mixed samosas. The owner Mamhoud was very enthusiastic and helpful in explaining the menu items to us. Everything is cooked fresh from scratch so it takes a minute but was well worth the wait. All the staff were very polite and friendly and the food was great, something a little different for Aberdeen if you a just looking for a light lunch. We will definatley drop in again next time we are passing...
