Well.. hard to say how mine visit to the restaurant was like... Interior of the dinning room was cool. You can see the small kitchen and realise it's a family restaurant, makes you feel like you're at friend's house. Everything's goes slow, quiet .. no rush what makes you feel you'll get amazing food (especially when you read reviews prior coming here). But unforunatrly for me it wasn't like that.. Porcion of my penne arabiata was really small. Could be at least a half bigger. Food tasted average. Nothing special, extraordinary or anything like that.. I felt like someone just bought a ready sauce, reheated it and cooked out a dried pasta.. mixed together and served it for a big price.. And at the end when we finished our mains and got dessert menu we were recommended tiramisu 'freshly made.. made today'. Really? It's a restaurant. Everything should be freshly made. If you cannot make everything cut off your menu. Focus on quality rather than quantity. I, and believe most of people, will be hapy to choose something from a small menu and get amazing food in a big enough portion than get something just to fill up stomach.
I'm really disappointed. I'm chef and know how it is. Especially when working in a busy kitchen in London.. But that place wasn't busy and their prices are similar to...
Read moreNot really sure if I'm missing something here but recent reviews are raving about this "little gem" "fresh family pasta" and we just didn't get it. Sadly sat between an 8 and 4 top which both ordered slightly before us, push our 2 top of starters out first was my thinking..... nope we sat and watched the 8 top get starters and the 4 top get starters and mains!! Thankfully we got moved as our starters arrived (40 mins after sitting down), away from the middle of the two tables. Mediocre brushetta and seafood salad.l, something that I could do at home tbh. An hour and 15 after sitting we get two plates, not bowls, of penne pasta clearly not freshly made, with a trickling of wet sauce that barely coated the pasta. Maybe we got them on a bad night but for me it's a no return. Staff licking fingers behind the deli, chefs serving food with hand towels, door open IN OCTOBER and just no real atmosphere or attention to guests or food for that matter. £43 for 2 starters 2 mains, 1 beer 1 juice and 1 pudding, really good price but for sure it's not value for money if you know what I mean. Defo had a snack when we got home as...
Read moreI have been in Scotland now for a few weeks on a Vacation... I was really wanting a yummy pasta meal and this has been a bit of a challenge to find... We arrived in Aberdeen today and stumbled upon this little gem! One of the best pasta dishes I have had in general... Not just in Scotland! We are here for two nights and will be back tomorrow for dinner. I had a mushroom tortolini in a tomato sauce... Was very very good. My husband's dish was even better... Was some kind of ham ,spicey tomato sauce... With rigatoni noodles ! Also the tiramisu was off the hook as well as the panacotta!
Do yourself a favor and check out this super cute small little gem of a restaurant in Aberdeen
