Sweet Mumma's Kitchen — Restaurant in Aberdeen City

Initially had really great vibes from this place, and was greeted at the door with kindness and effort to ensure we were welcomed. As someone with allergies, eating out can often cause anxiety. The waitress asked if there were any allergies and said that I would be “fine” with most things on the lunch menu. When ordering, there wasn’t any confirmation that the food I ordered would be free of eggs (my allergy), despite having crispy chicken and coleslaw in description. When the food arrived, I was handed the plate over the table and concerned as there was coleslaw on the plate, in this act I accidentally knocked over my full coffee which spilt over myself, the table and the floor. The waitress went and got blue roll and my friend asked if we could get a mop, to which we were told “just use that and I will give it a mop when we close”. My 3 friends and I proceeded to use the blue roll to mop this up, including on our hands and knees. Following this, the staff did not return to check we were okay or to take away the blue roll, which would be the bare minimum in my eyes. Nice wee cafe with good options for lunch. The cafe is located under the main railway line to/from Aberdeen opposite Millburn Road. It is certainly worth the walk away from the City Centre. The cafe was quite quiet when I arrived and all the current social restrictions are in place making you feel very safe to enjoy some food. I had a ham and tomato panini with a glass of milk and a cappucino. It was all served very nicely and by the time I was leaving the cafe was getting busy. I visited the cafe earlier on this week, the food was good I went for a bagel and soup- soup was a tad cold. The atmosphere in the cafe was quite quiet and didn’t feel welcoming. The staff were quite unwelcoming and felt as if we were being rushed out. I have seen some similar comments online regarding them rushing people out by 2pm which I think is shocking for a business to do if the public are putting money into the business they should cater and make people feel more welcome.
