Bar staff could do with lessons in social skills !!!! Trying to pick arguments with customers is not the way to get customers ? As A Bathonian the Ram used to be a good Pub ? But is now of any pub craw list to tourists or family. The bar staff have right to not serve someone if they believe that they have had enough! But not try to cause a fight ! Better to explain and say I will not serve you because I believe you have had enough .This happened on Saturday the 25th November to a group of 3 over 50yr olds.At approx 10.30pm.Also the little step by the bar is a health and safety problem.Thankfully nobody fell over only tripped .Which seemed to give the impression that one of the 3 had drunk to much .As I said a better and more professional way of handling this situation was more appropriate.and not the aggressive manner in the way it was. As. Drinker in Bath pubs for over 40 years I have never come across aggression of this kind...
Read moreYou will struggle to find a more welcoming pub in Bath. In Widcombe high st (a stone's throw from Bath Spa railway station ) this traditional pub is a total gem. No fancy paint shades pushing up the price of your pint but an atmosphere which reminds you what pubs used to be like. There are all sorts of folks here, locals, walkers, groups, couples, dogs and sports fans on rugby days. Food is trad pub menu and Sunday lunch is a marvellous roast. I love it. There are some great watering holes in Bath. The Ram is antithesis of all the style-over-substance places in the city, who don't bank on you coming back so don't bother putting the effort in. Staff here are lovely and it's completely unpretentious. A great offering on the Bath food &...
Read moreWe have been in this pub a few times over the many visits to Bath. This time we had a bottle of wine on Friday night before going back to the hotel. They had live band on, they were pretty good, but doesn't have to be as loud, because it's hard to have a conversation. And one of the band members parked in the disabled bay outside the Indian Restaurant a few doors down, good job we didn't have our elderly mother in law with us, because he took the space (just unbelievable). We went back on Saturday morning to try their breakfast. Eggs Benedict and also poached eggs on smashed avocado. Both were nice, but nothing to special. The only issue in that particular area is the 4G signal is a hit and miss and the Pubs WiFi is simply...
