We were expecting a lot more here today after seeing the reviews. We were staying just a few metres away so location was great. Two of the breakfasts were ok, two werenât. One breakfast had overcooked eggs and cold beans in a cold dish. My eggs were ok but not that warm. The plates you are serving on need to be at the very least warm. If you are offering two eggs on toast it should be one egg per slice of bread, not one egg per half slice. Also when a customer simply asks for the beans on the toast and eggs on top, A) donât roll your eyes and B) Do what was asked! We donât mind paying the price for these breakfasts but we need to go away happy and thinking we had value for money. Sadly today we didnât. Maybe just a one off, after seeing your reviews. Itâs a nice location and a nice little deli / cafe, just not for us today.
Amateurish response too. No surprise!!...
Read moreGood food and coffee. However, recent problems where they seemed to close at an earlier time on a Friday afternoon, and made my partner feel uncomfortable, stacking chairs around her, and pushed her to leave. Disappointed and may not return.
Edit: Leaving a 2nd review after both my partner and I have visited again. Today, a Wednesday afternoon, the staff asked my partner to leave the Deli before a closing time earlier than specified on their opening times. And they were clearly unresponsive to my previous review. So, beware, the opening times on Google are not accurate for this Deli. All very disappointing and we won't be returning despite being Widcombe residents. The Cakery, a few doors down the parade, is far superior for food, coffee and certainly...
Read moreVisited on 11.07.2023 to grab some lunch. We had some salad at home that needed eating so settled on a slice of quiche each. However, imagine our surprise on discovering that for 2 slices of quiche, it came to £21.90. That's £10.95 for 1 slice of quiche. To take out. With nothing else - no salad, no chips, no side. Just the quiche. As nice as the quiche was, fluffy and tasty, it was not worth that much. We also bought a slice of cake, which was much more reasonable. Again, very tasty.
There was absolutely no acknowledgement from staff that we were waiting to be served and we were stood around for a good 6 minutes, before we were spoken to.
Wouldn't go for the quiche again. But, would maybe go again...
