Service let this place down, food was ok, I generally enjoyed our meal but few things to mention.
Our order wasn't taken what we would consider good time, the sides (starters) all arrived seperate from each 3mins difference between them. Mains same again my meal arrived, my wifes meal 10mins later! This is unacceptable. The food was nice I can't take that away from the chef, well done. We ordered a 2nd coke it didn't arrive, no one near us for ages to ask so we left it only to find they were trying to charge us for it, we said take that off the bill as we never recieved it only to have a teen rush over asking if we wanted it now. NO our meal is over and we want to pay to leave. No common sense. Have to wait over 15mins to receive the bill after asking, I had to walk up to the till to get my bill, the guy I asked was on phone constantly. Service charge on the bill for what I consider poor service, not impressed.
What let this restaurant down more then anything is the constant deliveroo pickups, arguments at the door concerning online orders and bikers/drivers in and out while we try to eat.
Few comments for this restaurant. If you are going to do a delivery service get all pickups at the rear door not to disrupt your in house clients. Employ more staff and teach them restaurant eticut to keep up with demand, manners do not cost a thing Food you serve should all be on time, every paying client should receive there meal at the same time. Pay attention, if someone wants the bill get them paid up and out the door to fill the seat again, simple rules to make money. Service charge should be optional, making people pay it leaves a sour taste in there mouth and will push them to leave reviews, as I rarely do especially as the service on this occasion for us was awful.
So much potentially this place, let's itself down. I probably will never return and would not recommend either based on...
Read moreThese people do not live on this planet. We decided to eat at a local restaurant as we were visiting a town we don’t normally come to We chose Charm and believe me that is something they lack in. The restaurant was empty when we walked in at 5pm. The crammed the 3 of us into the smallest table possible that we couldn’t move. The staff we’re unfriendly (no charm) I ordered a beer then set about choosing our meal. I asked the waiter if they had a children’s menu as a 5 year old wouldn’t be able to eat an adult portion to which the waitress said bluntly No. My wife then asked could you make a small portion to which she replied I will ask. She quickly returned to say no he we can’t.
I then stood up and said ok if you can’t cater for children we will leave and find another restaurant that can. Within seconds a managerial figure arrived to ask us what’s wrong. When I explained what happened she said she could make a children’s portion. Yet next to her in the waitress reiterated no we can’t. I this point I lost the will to live with the stupidity of the staff and grabbed my wife and child and said we are leaving. They asked me to pay for my beer that I hadn’t touched but carried on walking out telling to watch out for the review I was about to leave.
I couldn’t say what the food was like but the service is a zero, compassion and helpfulness zero. We are now in another restaurant with...
Read moreIf you're craving authentic Thai food that brings both the heat and the flavor, Charm Thai Restaurant is an absolute gem you need to check out.
I kicked things off with the chicken dumplings, and oh man—they were little flavor bombs. Perfectly steamed, juicy, and seasoned just right. I fully intended to snap a pic, but they were so good I devoured them without thinking. Zero regrets.
Then came the star of the show: Khaw Kling, a Southern Thai dish that comes with some serious heat. And not the “mildly spicy” kind—they serve it Thai spicy, just the way I like it. Every bite was bursting with bold flavor, spice, and a deep, earthy richness that hit all the right notes. Absolutely addictive.
To cool things off, I ordered a Thai milk tea, which came topped with a generous swirl of whipped cream—yes, you read that right. The combo of the rich, creamy tea and fluffy whipped topping was like a dessert and drink in one. It was the perfect sweet, cooling contrast to the fiery main dish.
Between the food, the cozy vibes, and the super friendly staff, I left full, happy, and already planning my next visit. Charm Thai, you’ve won my heart—and next time, I might take a photo before diving in. But...
