I recently dined at Gusto, and it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, I received a cold and indifferent reception that set a negative tone for the evening.
The ambiance of the restaurant was far from inviting, with lackluster decor, harsh lighting, and generic background music that did nothing to create a pleasant atmosphere. It felt like a mundane, forgettable place.
Now, let's talk about the food. The menu was a letdown, with dishes that lacked creativity and flavor. The pasta was overcooked and the sauces were bland. The pizza was nothing special, with a thick, doughy crust and toppings that seemed like they came from a supermarket freezer.
What was most disappointing, though, was the abysmal service. The staff at Gusto were disinterested and inattentive, making us feel like an afterthought. They had no knowledge of the menu and couldn't provide any recommendations.
To make matters worse, the wine selection was limited and uninspiring, failing to enhance our meal in any way.
In conclusion, Gusto was a letdown for anyone seeking a memorable Italian dining experience. I left with a sense of dissatisfaction and no intention of returning to explore more of their lackluster offerings. If you're in Bath, I would recommend looking elsewhere for a better Italian...
Read moreWe arrived in Bath on a Thursday afternoon after traveling overnight from the US on a very long and uncomfortable flight (early March 2024). With nothing but plane and train station food over the past 24 hours, my wife and I were desperate to get a good meal as we tried to force ourselves to stay up at least until 10:00 PM. While walking around Bath we happened upon Colosseo and were drawn to its cozy, inviting interior and authentic menu.
We are glad we decided to give it a try. The service was first rate – a good balance between being friendly / attentive without being intrusive. The food itself was fabulous. I wish I had the wherewithal to take some pictures but everything looked great and the Tiramisu was a highlight (at least for me). We were treated to limoncello shots at the end. It was a great way to end the day and get us ready for our two week visit to England.
Thank you so much for...
Read moreCame here with my girlfriend to celebrate our anniversary and we had a fantastic time. The overall atmosphere is lovely and welcoming. Staff is very friendly, chatty and helped us make our choices for drinks and food. Klajdi and Matt helped to make the evening very special with their great service telling us more about the dishes and making fantastic recommendations. The pasta dishes were simply stunning, highly recommend the carbonara, best one I ever had (make sure to leave space for desert, the panna cotta I've had transported me back to my childhood!) Portions were perfect and everything is very well priced for centre of Bath.
We will definitely be back to try out different options on the menu, fish and pizzas are already wanting us to go in again. The fact we live a short walk away has made this our favourite. Quite simply a must go to location for Italian food in Bath for locals...
