I came into Bath with my seven year old son for some quality time together. We had time to kill after visiting the toy shop round the corner. I thought about going into the Costa opposite this branch because they’re a quality cafe that always delivers good food, drink and service. However, I was seduced by the fancy looking doughnuts at Krispy’s and figured my son would really appreciate seeing them and trying one. However, upon entering we were met with one member of staff who didn’t greet us and then got impatient with me when I replied to her question about how many bags we needed for the doughnuts by saying that we were eating in… why would we need bags if we’re going to turn around and sit down two feet away?! When I ordered a n americano, she didn’t bother to ask if I needed milk, which Costa opposite would always check. Her male friend then showed up and I overheard her moaning to him about how miserable she was about something, in ear shot of us. in between the moaning I “rudely” interrupted them to ask for milk in my coffee. She didn’t check if I wanted hot milk, or how much milk, thereby rendering my piping hot coffee tepid. When he finally left, I approached her again and asked for a fresh cup, at which point she felt it, told me it was still warm and insisted I’d have to pay for a new one… we gathered up our things and crossed the street to Costa, where we really should have gone in the first place! I would be very grateful for a refund of the £10 I spent in Kristy’s for me to ever consider visiting one of their outlets again! She was too busy to correct it immediately, so her colleague, a decent gentleman, did it for her.
