I stopped by Ground Espresso on Queen St. in Belfast twice during my short trip as my hotel was close by. The coffee was excellent both times—but what really stood out was the service. The guy working there who served me on both occasions (I heard him mention it was only his 4th day on the job!) is an absolute asset to this café. He was warm, welcoming, and effortlessly managed multiple customers at once while making each interaction feel personal.

It’s rare to see someone so genuine and attentive in a busy coffee shop, and it truly made this one of the best food and drink experiences I’ve had in Belfast. This is exactly the kind of service that brings people back. Great work, man—keep that attitude and...

Just started coming to this place for my lunch hour regularly. Why did I wait?! For starters the food is lush, the sausage and egg muffin (McWhoneedsthem?!?) is gorgeous as is the vegetarian version. The salted brownie is a thing of legend. But (almost more importantly) this place is run by people (with excellent music taste, too). People that are friendly, personable and act like humans. This is what almost all coffee shops in Belfast were like when I moved here in 2002 (the likes of Vincent's on Botanic, Cafe Conor, and of course Clements). Then the uber-chains came along and destroyed them all. I hope Ground continues to thrive, doesnt try and reinvent the wheel, just keeps on doing what...

Excellent spot. I go most days at lunchtime to read and it's a relaxing atmosphere. One of the best, if not the best, filter brews of good coffee in the city centre - surprising. Plenty of great food on offer, which is all very reasonably priced. Lovely staff who are always really friendly. Efficient at clearing tables, so you never need to clear your own table (like at other cafés). Very handy location, near to everything you could want at lunchtime. Highly...

This is a place where locals work and study. There’s self serve tap water and nice staff. I recommend the ham and cheese croissant, but could be improved by some fresh lettuce instead of the old bagged salad which gets rusty and limp too quickly. A fresh lettuce leaf would have the same effect on the plate, would be easier to keep washed and ready in a cup of cool water near the prep station, and might be a cheaper option too! The coffee is immaculate.

The food was very tasty and it didn't look or tasted like mass industry. The prices are also quite reasonable. The employee was very kind and polite. The whole coffee place has a chilled enjoyable vibe. And they have free Wi-Fi if you need to work or connect your phone. I would recommend it. Since I love soaps, I ended up also buying one of their soap bars and it smells amazing.

Great spot for a coffee while in town. The coffee at Ground tastes great IMO, and is beautifully presented. This location is quite small, but has a cosy atmosphere. The music was a little too loud, and you can use the free WiFi. There is an accessible toilet at the back of the cafe.
