I’ve been preaching to my colleagues about how good awesome chips are, and then received their disappointing results afterwards. We got there to find there is no satay sauce, understandable as sauces can run out. Whilst ordering and waiting for our food the guy serving me was constantly giving me dirty looks when I asked for little things such as a bag for my colleague. I saw the guy put sauce just on top of the chips, here’s me thinking he’s adding extra sauce for me… I opens the box and further down as I start eating there was just dry chips and confirmed that sauce had just been put on top. The guy said he had added Cajun spice but clearly didn’t add as much as he should have for a large box of chips. £9.30 for chips that I could’ve got at the chippy and put mayo and spice on myself with better service. My colleague experienced a similar issue she thought she ordered peri peri powder with garlic and melted cheese on her chips. But there was no melted cheese and minimal sauce. There were 5 of us to witness these issues. Another colleague had asked for melted cheese on hers but received cheese sauce instead. The other two orders appeared fine but was not happy with the level of appalling service. I would also like to add that during our order every time I looked up as a number was called out the guy would consistently say with attitude “yours is number 10 love”! He said this about 3 times each time displaying more and more attitude. Didn’t realise it was an issue for me to look up ?!

I visited Awsome chips today to buy a cone of chips and observed some very unhygienic practices, the bottles of sauces were extremely dirty, and looked like they had not been washed in months and just refilled with sauce, the bottles were almost grey/black in colour. I then observed a worker using what looked like an extremely dirty washing basket to put chips in, the basket was thrown in the sink and then some chips were loaded into the basket when he lifted the basket there was green mould under the basket, Additionally he carried the basket to the fryer with water leaking from the basket all over the floor and did not seem at all bothered. When I was handed my chips, I saw that the bar which they use to stand the chip cones was extremely dirty, there was salt, dried sauce that was evidently not wiped for days and splashes of oil all over the counter. The person serving me was wiping his hands on his clothes and then proceeding to carry on with fulfilling my order.
