Me, my Husband and our two children recently visited La Vera. We have always been eating at Martineau Place at the same place we wanted to try something different.
Soon as we entered we can see the place was fairly busy, we were welcomed with warm smiles and quickly seated. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming made us feel at home.
The menu for the main meals were small but we actually prefer this as too having many choices as that can be overwhelming. We ordered one lamb kofta and two chicken kofta meals.
Food was absolutely beautiful, MashAllah. Was presented well, good portion size. Even our little boy who doesn’t like to eat much when we go out kept coming for our food 🥹😁
Our son loves to not stay still in one place and have a little wander around the shop which made me feel a little bit nervous as I didn’t want to cause an issue or the staff to mind but everyone was so kind even the customers that were having their meals they didn’t mind our son going upto them and sitting at their table ☺️
Lovely lady called Huda that works their was very kind and attentive, she even went out of her way to give our son fresh orange juice which was just meant alot to us as these little gestures goes along way.
Also wanted to mention that they do not sell any boycotted products which was a plus for us. Zanti Cola 👌🏼👍🏼
Thank you to everyone at La Vera for making our eating out experience one to remember. We can’t wait to come back soon and try one of your Wood Oven Pizzas
Would highly recommend to all family and friends 10/10...
Read more(2 adults, 1 baby and 1 teenager) We visited to celebrate my niece's GCSE results before she starts college. The upstairs outdoor area was pleasant, but the non-smoking rule was strange, especially since a staff member was smoking right under the sign while on break. Ordering was straightforward, but the menu lacked important details. I ordered wings for myself and the baby, and they came with an unlisted sauce that I didn’t like. They also mixed up the sides, putting steak-cut chips (listed as just "chips" on the menu, which is frustrating as most places in Birmingham do this) on the wrong plate. When I asked for the mix-up to be fixed, they only corrected the baby’s wings. I ended up returning my meal for a refund, and the cashier agreed that the sauce should be mentioned on the menu or served separately. The tzatziki and chili sauce were both watery and lacked flavor. My niece's pizza was soggy in the middle, but like many teenagers, she didn’t complain and just ate what she could. Unfortunately, this will be my first and last visit. There was no follow-up to check if everything was okay, even after the issues we had, and no goodbye when we left. The whole experience felt very cold.
I went to the opposite restaurant ARABI GRILL HOUSE this was amazing food and service also got complimentary soup and pickled vegetables on the side...
Read moreI am a pizza enthusiast and enjoy critically reviewing establishments. Worth highlighting that my review is based on one visit only, therefore please don’t go with solely what I have experienced. Well I and a friend visited this establishment last week in order to try the pizza. I ordered the pepperoni pizza (as usual) and some fries which to be fair was all reasonably priced. The pizza was cooked in plain site within a clay oven which was nice to see. The food did come to us reasonably quick and without hassle. The pizza itself was okay and cooked well. However, the crust got a bit hard and rubbery if not eaten straight away. The size of the pizza I would say was reasonable and fine for 1 person. The fries were nice but make sure you eat them hot otherwise they don’t taste as good. Also they do have condiments on each table, and therefore if you like mayonnaise etc with your pizza then you are covered. Also, if you require olive oil then you must ask as they do have it near the till/cutlery. The seating and decor was sort of bland and uninspiring but acceptable and clean. Staff were friendly and polite. BTW the kebabs on skewers looked appetising but didn’t try because I came to eat pizza not kebabs. Overall, the food won’t be winning any Michelin stars but it...
