Food is cooked well, enjoyed the vegetarian full English with seasoned beans (must try in my opinion). The only thing that let the place down, is the slow service, I appreciate they have a small kitchen but being a cafe with a quite a large seating space I would have imagined they would have worked out a system to help speed up their process. I've visited this place a few times over the past few years and it's not changed (food wait time, decor, atmosphere). On my last visit one customer ended up cancelling their order saying they're going to go up the road instead as they're short on time (having waited a while already). The staff did try to say it would only be another 10mins (or so) but the customer politely declined & left. The food is reasonably priced, I just hope they can bring the food out quicker as waiting over 30mins for a breakfast when there's no other customers waiting is often inconvenient & off putting. Polite staff. Friendly welcome. Decor could do with a face-lift & atmosphere could be a little more entertaining (given the wait time - maybe a TV screen).

⭐️⭐️ 2 out of 5 stars I dropped in a bit after 9pm — the place was still busy with a steady flow of online orders. I noticed a large pot of lamb curry sitting on the counter and asked about it. A staff member said it had been freshly made about 30 minutes earlier. I ordered it with rice — served on a single plate with a small side of salad and a bit of yoghurt sauce. No drink included. Total cost: £10. The curry was tasty, but that’s about it. It was just lamb pieces on the bone in sauce — no vegetables, no extras. Most of the pieces were either bone or full of cartilage, with very little actual meat. For £10, especially in a student-heavy area, the portion and quality just didn’t feel worth it. I left still hungry and ended up going to Dixie’s for a burger straight after. Disappointing overall.

It was Friday when I visited late morning there. The person taking my order told me straight away even before we took a seat that in an hour they'll close down for 30 mins for Friday prayers so no orders will be fulfilled at that time. Which is fine and totally respect that. But at least we should have been seated before informing us about their plans. The food we ordered definitely felt like it was made in hurry because they didn't want to miss the Friday prayers. The omelette was soaking wet in oil and the sausage tasted a bit funny. Would recommend this place only going on any other day apart from Friday.

Decided to visit with my sister as she wanted to have a halal breakfast. The layout is quite odd; the owner/manager told us that there are 2 separate businesses and counters which you have to order and pay at. When we entered, no one greeted us or asked us what we would like. As it was our first time visiting, we did not really know what to order or how the seating worked.

I walked over to order my food and the man who took my order was sat down eating. It seemed really odd as instead of standing up and stop eating, he continued to eat whilst asking me ‘what do you want’? He was rude, unfriendly and honestly gave me creep vibes. After I ordered, he told me to wait and said that he would start making my order after he finished eating. I then had to ask the owner when the cook would finish eating as I wanted to receive my food at the same time as my sister (who ordered at the opposite counter.) This was so bizarre and unprofessional!

I went into the female bathroom and it was absolutely disgusting. There was vomit all over the seat and almost no tissue roll. When we raised the issue, the owner told my sister that he was busy cooking and that they did not have enough staff to tend to the bathroom.

We had to wait a really long time for someone to come over and there was 0 communication so we weren’t even sure if anyone was going to clean it. When a lady did decide to finally come over, the energy seemed really off. After she had cleaned it, she told the owner in front of us not to let customers use the toilets as there was no tissue roll left. What establishment does not have a supply of tissue roll?

The owner/manager himself seemed friendly and made conversation when bringing our food, however, the general energy and cleanliness (we also noticed dirty tables) will likely deter us from returning again. The food tasted pleasant but was slightly cold. As we were sat right next to the bathrooms, the lack of hygiene really put me off and ruined the experience.

Response to owner: I have double checked and this is definitely where we went to eat. I ordered the chicken shawarma from the other counter and my sister ordered the breakfast, which is also shown in the picture. It is not an unfair review as this is definitely the place where we ate.

Yes my food might have been ordered from a different business but my review outlines issues relating to the atmosphere, general hygiene and cleanliness inside of the building, which customers ordering from either business would have...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Breakfast and Dessert Corner and indulging in their English breakfast, and I must say it was an absolute treat! From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of fantastic.

Firstly, the ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, creating the perfect atmosphere to enjoy a hearty breakfast. The staff members were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure I had everything I needed throughout my meal.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the English breakfast. It was a culinary masterpiece! The plate arrived with all the classic components beautifully presented. The eggs were cooked to perfection, with the yolks oozing out as soon as I cut into them. The bacon was crispy and flavorful, and the sausages were juicy and packed with delicious herbs and spices. The grilled tomatoes added a refreshing touch, and the baked beans were rich and satisfying. The toast was perfectly golden brown and accompanied by a generous serving of butter and jam. Every bite was a harmonious symphony of flavors.

The portion size was generous, leaving me feeling satisfied and energized for the day ahead. The quality of the ingredients was evident, and it was evident that the chef paid great attention to detail.

To top it all off, the service was outstanding. The waitstaff was friendly, attentive, and ensured that I had a delightful experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu and even offered recommendations for future visits.

Breakfast and Dessert Corner truly lives up to its name, as they also offer a delectable array of desserts. Although I was too full to try them during this visit, I will definitely be back to explore their sweet offerings.

Overall, I highly recommend Breakfast and Dessert Corner for an exceptional English breakfast experience. Whether you're a local or a tourist, this place is a must-visit for breakfast lovers. The combination of delicious food, pleasant ambiance, and attentive service make it a true gem in the city. I can't wait to return and indulge in their culinary...
