Dixy Chicken — Restaurant in Birmingham

I have ordered Dixys around 200 times in my 4 years at uni. I now get it around twice a week as I live right around the corner. Having said this even if I lived over an hour away, I would still make the effort to get my teeth around a succulent double decker burger. If you go into dixys and don't get a double decker burger you have made a fatal mistake.

When the wings and classic recipe chicken are on point I believe there is no where else in the world that does chicken as good as selly oak dixys. I have proof of this as my friend who lives in soul has said he cannot find any fried chicken that compares to dixys in the entire city.

Give dixys a visit to experience the best fried chicken around and to be made to feel at home by the sound lads who run this fine establishment.

Edit I have reached dixys pinacle. I ordered a double decker burger with curly fries and 8 wings around 40 minutes ago. And let me tell you... The double decker burger was immense. The burger was steaming and the chicken fillets were crispy and flavorful. Overall I had a spiritual experience and that was just with the double decker burger. The curly fries were great as always, they are always the best no doubt about it. Now, on to the wings. They were the single greatest taste sensation. The crispy batter with that iconic dixy flavour and succulent chicken made the heavens align for an amazing finale to my experience. Honestly this is what I've been searching for and I hope one day you can experience this too

Rapid delivery and friendly staff before, but ever since new management has come into place everything has become extremely slow and incompetent. Waited over an hour and a half when I was told maximum one hour, and food still not arrived with kids left starving so had to order elsewhere. On top of that after nearly two hours of food arriving, one of the current dysfunctional employee who claims himself to be the manager phones and accuses me for his mismanagement and when I made it clear to him and corrected him on the phone to statements such as him claiming I live far away and I didn't give notice, he had no choice but to hang up. Im better of sticking to the other dixy shops unless old management returns and remove the current inconsiderates. I would rather pay more from a better service with at least half decent staff. Its sad that such people think they can use their arrogance level wherever they like, if thats how they live their lives then its their loss at the same time realise it does not work with everyone including me especially as these individuals must be mocked at all times. I would take the matter further with the poor mannered guy from the phone, but then think that with his attitude succumbing to dropping the phone, I would rather not take the responsibility of giving such people the importance who isnt human enough to talk to and not be the reason why his out of a job. Dixy chicken:  You can eat it grilled, roasted, with a burger, the list goes on and on, but my favorite way to eat chicken is fried. Fried chicken is one of my favorite dishes to eat, especially when it comes with mashed potatoes and gravy. Something about the crispiness of the chicken paired with the creaminess of the mashed potato that makes the two a perfect pair.
