Came here with my Fiance and his cousin from Kent this evening (Friday evening). We decided to have dinner downstairs, then go upstairs later on in the evening for a catch up. Whilst upstairs the bouncer came to our table and aggressively told us to leave our drinks that we paid for and to leave as they were closing (1:20am)-no warning was given to us previously- we explained this to the bouncer that we were not aware that the establishment was shutting early. We informed him that we had just bought our drinks and wanted to quickly finish them before leaving. We also noticed that on Google reviews the establishment doesn't shut until 2am on Friday (normally a heads up is given before hand-this never happened)- we would not have chosen to come here if we had known that the establishment was going to shut earlier than the time listed on Google. He then demanded that we leave our drinks behind and that he did not care that we had just bought our drinks. He accused us of being drunk despite buying 2 regular cokes with no alcohol and one beer. A blonde woman with glasses claimed to own the establishment and excused his aggressive behaviour by stating that they have a right to shut the bar and ask customers to leave. We explained that we were happy to leave, but we were not comfortable with the aggression that this young bouncer displayed towards us. The bouncer then proceeded to tell us several times that he didn't care about his aggression, because he was employed by an agency and being paid regardless. He said this in front of the blonde lady with glasses (who claimed to own the establishment). When we asked her if it was appropriate for him to say that he didn't care about his attitude towards us or that we would be leaving a google review, she told us that she agreed with us, but we were aggravating him by bringing up what he had already told us several times, in front of her! (That he did not care about how aggressive he was towards us and that he did not care about us leaving a google review about this incident, because he was being paid for this job via an agency and had nothing to do with the business). I have been here a few times with friends and even recommended this place as a lovely night out to so many co-workers, family and friends. After this evening we will never come back again and we will not be recommending this place again. We don't feel comfortable spending our money here again unfortunately, due to the lack of empathy towards us as paying customers. Such a shame really because it has tainted the evening for us- a simple apology would have actually resolved this and we do understand that places have to shut and there are procedures in place, however there is no need for such aggresive behaviour. My fiance's cousin had planned another evening here to celebrate with his friends and relatives tomorrow, but has now decided to cancel and find a new establishment, because of what...
Read moreOk so where to start:- We arranged a bottomless brunch premium upgrade (£42.50 per person) and pre booked everything, including food. I did call and explain We would be 10 mins late; staff were fine with this which I really appreciate. We weren't seated until 20 mins after our arrival time which is fine but we weren't allowed to open the bottomless brunch drinks, so would've had to pay £13 for cocktails at the bar 😡 Pretty irritating but ok. Once seated, we weren't served for another 20 mins for any drinks (our bottomless brunch was a 90 minute slot so to some this would make a difference especially with the amount you pay!). We had to order 2 cocktails at a time because of how much the waiter was rushed seeing everyone and how little we saw them. We didn't get any food for over an hour either. I had to ask the waiter, who had to ask me again for our order slot, and by the time it came out, we had 10 minutes left to eat it 😡 The food itself was bad: I ordered a burrito bowl and my friend ordered a burger. My burrito bowl was a couple of mouthfuls of rice in a 7 inch raised plate and my friends burger looked like they had just gone to Macdonald's and put it on a different plate. Maybe rushed because they didn't realise we had pre-booked?Personally was just not happy. We felt pressured to order as many cocktails as possible to break even with the amount we paid for and the service was so slow 😔 The music for 4:30pm was EXTREMELY loud!!! It is a Saturday but both our ears were ringing and our voices were hoarse when we left at 6:45pm which we've never had before, even when clubbing on broad street. Don't recommend at all for tinnitus sufferers. Don't recommend for kids or teenagers. The cocktails themselves were nice but we would've definitely enjoyed them more after our food if it came earlier. The waiters were lovely but under an insane amount of pressure so I feel management have some explaining to do, especially with the music being so loud. The waiter got our cocktail orders wrong twice because they could not hear us, but we felt we couldn't say anything because it will be ANOTHER 20 mins waiting on cocktails 😡 We asked for the bill and requested the gratuity charge be taken off - I had to go through 3 staff to do this which overall took another 15 mins. You're better off going to...
Read moreUpdate: After leaving my original review (below), I was contacted by Joe, the General Manager, who offered a generous gesture of 50% off our bill and a further discount on a future visit. While this seemed like a positive step toward resolving our disappointing experience, unfortunately, the follow-through has been just as frustrating. Despite chasing him for the refund, I only received a generic email saying he would prioritise it - and that was over two weeks ago. As of now, still no refund, and no further communication. It’s incredibly disappointing to be given false promises on top of poor service. This experience has truly been one of the worst in terms of customer care and accountability.
I didn’t really have the best experience here, which was disappointing considering we had looked forward to our visit. From the start, things didn’t go smoothly. I asked if it would be possible for a couple of guests to switch their preordered mains. We were assured via email by Chloe that this would be possible. However, when we arrived, we were informed that the manager would not support such changes. These changes would have been only for 2 meals.
In addition to that, some drinks orders were missing, and we had to repeatedly follow up. Even after the food arrived - with the drinks still missing - the manager, despite promising to sort it out, failed to do so. We ended up finishing our meal and had to chase the manager yet again for the forgotten drinks. I raised these concerns with the manager, explaining the issues with the main course changes and missing drinks. Unfortunately, the manager did not offer any apology.
Adding to the frustration, I had clearly specified in the preorder that one guest couldn’t have anything spicy, yet their burger was still served spicy. The meals were generally quite bland and the “nachos” were literally just plain Doritos with two pots - one of salsa and one of guac.
The one positive aspect of the experience was the waitresses. They were lovely, friendly, and seemed to do their best despite the circumstances. However, it feels like there’s a deeper cultural issue here, as the atmosphere seemed shockingly demotivating.
Overall, this experience left a lot to be desired, and unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend it based...
