Authentic Flavours, Warm Hospitality – A True Malaysian Gem
I recently visited Malaysian Delight, and I can confidently say it was one of the most satisfying dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Whether you’re already a fan of Malaysian cuisine or completely new to it, this place is an absolute must-try. The combination of authentic flavors, generous portions, and warm, welcoming service makes it stand out in the best possible way.
Food Quality: Every dish we ordered was a celebration of bold, rich flavors. The Nasi Lemak was beautifully presented — fragrant coconut rice, tender sambal chicken, crispy anchovies, and perfectly boiled egg all served with that signature spicy sambal that had just the right kick. The Char Kway Teow was smoky, savory, and loaded with prawns and Chinese sausage, just like it should be. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in getting traditional recipes just right.
Authenticity: As someone who’s tasted Malaysian food both in Malaysia and abroad, I was genuinely impressed by how true-to-home the dishes tasted. The ingredients, spices, and cooking techniques all reflect genuine Malaysian street food and home-style cooking. Nothing felt watered down or westernized — this is the real deal.
Service: The staff were incredibly kind and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain the dishes for those unfamiliar with the cuisine and made thoughtful recommendations based on our preferences. Service was quick but never rushed, and there was a real sense of pride and hospitality in the way they engaged with customers.
Atmosphere: The ambiance was cozy and clean, with simple but thoughtful decor that highlighted Malaysian culture. It’s a casual place, perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or family, and it felt very welcoming.
Value for Money: The prices are more than reasonable considering the quality and portion sizes. You get hearty, flavorful meals that leave you full and satisfied. It’s clear they focus on quality ingredients and generous servings — no corners cut here.
Highlights:
Roti Canai was flaky and soft, served with a rich curry dip.
Teh Tarik (Malaysian pulled tea) was creamy and comforting, just like I remember from street stalls in Kuala Lumpur.
Vegan and vegetarian options were also available and well thought out.
Overall: Malaysian Delight lives up to its name — a true delight in every way. It’s rare to find a place that so successfully captures the spirit and taste of Malaysia. Whether you’re dining in or taking away, the experience is consistently excellent. I’ll absolutely be returning — next time with an even bigger appetite.
Highly, highly...
Read moreWaitress was kind enough to accommodate us despite not having a reservation. Nasi lemak was disappointing. The sambal was cold and sweet. The acar was on its way to being off. The chicken curry was a good portion of 3 and luckily somebody remembered to heat it up.
Char kuei tiaw was reasonably good.
I had made an order for the kids when we sat down at the table making it clear it was for the kids. Unfortunately they kept it aside and only passed our order to the kitchen after we got back to them with the rest of our order.
One order came late after the rest of us was close to finishing. Even then the waitress had to be reminded that we had not received the char kuei tiaw. The waitress had to be reminded of one of our drink orders too .
We ordered ice cream and mango sago. I found the sago hard. Perhaps it was not thawed sufficiently from the freezer. Banana fritters were served instead of cream only and after mentioning that they got our order wrong , the kitchen staff told us they had run out of ice cream and will charge us for the ice Cream order only.
Sadly. I watched him thereafter and he didn’t bother to mention it to the person at the counter. He was present as we paid the bill but didn’t mention it then either. By this time we had already had a long day and paid whatever bill was.
I noticed the other tables were delighted by their Chinese menu orders. A previous customer also had a delayed delivery of their meal whilst the others on the table ate theirs. A couple came and were made to wait but was not seated immediately when a table was cleaned and made available....
Read moreDid not expect to get an unpleasant experience. Ordered king prawn with hot&spicy sauce but what I got was a dish similar to sweet and sour prawns. And I don't like sweet and sour prawns. Called a server who called another server who called another server. Expressed what my issue was and she rebutted by getting sweet and sour sauce from the kitchen (which was mostly sweet btw), making me taste and compare the sauces and I said that they're pretty similar and I don't want it. That I would just like to order something else. She got the menu and then told me that they're still going to charge me for the food that I didn't want coz when they took the order it was the right dish. They would pay half and I'd pay the other half. Now I'm not going to pay for something I wasnt going to eat! She said if I return the food the cost is going to be taken out of their pay. (From what I know that's illegal, isn't it?) Rather than not paying and storming off causing a scene I iust told the lady nevermind, I'm going to have it but I'm never coming back again. I didn't like my experience at all and this is a "cash only" restaurant that doesn't give you a receipt at all when you've paid. Hmmm, hope nothing dodgy going...
