Absolutely terrible experience at this new brunch spot that we had high hopes for. We had a booking for 14:00 but didn't even get our first drink until 14:20, which is simply unacceptable. We were supposed to be able to order 3 items each from the menu, but to our dismay, one of our ordered items never even arrived.

The cocktails were a major disappointment across the board. They were all overly sweet and we ended up having to send each one back due to the poor quality. Two cocktails were ‘tipex’ out on the menu, when we inquired about the limited cocktail menu, we were simply told that they have a limited menu so I said you should update the menu on the website with no apology or attempt to make it right.

The food itself was also extremely poor quality. The chicken wings we ordered had practically no meat on the bones, and when we pointed this out, we were told the restaurant has no control over the amount of meat. This is clearly an unacceptable standard for a brunch establishment.

However, the real issue here was the absolutely terrible service and management. We asked to speak to the manager Lorna about our numerous complaints, but she was very dismissive and did not seem interested in addressing our concerns at all. Another couple seated near us also voiced their strong unhappiness with the overall experience.

The general manager Raphael took things to a whole new level of unacceptable. When the two men seated next to us complained about their bad experience, Raphael actually had the audacity to tell them not to speak to us about it. And when we requested a discount on the bill due to the litany of issues, we were flatly refused.

Overall, this was an absolutely dreadful experience from start to finish. I would not recommend this brunch spot to anyone, as the service and management are in dire need of major improvement before I would ever consider returning. A complete waste of...

This is by far the worst restaurant in Birmingham. I wouldn’t even give it 1 star, and it’s run by the most arrogant, rude and ill mannered staff and management team I’ve ever had to deal with. We booked a table for 7 people, in advanced for my Dad’s 50th Birthday. We arrived around 15-20 minutes late due to major traffic, but had called the restaurant multiple times to apologise and also make them aware that we will still be making the reservation, just a little later than we had hoped. We get to the restaurant and they hadn’t even got a table ready for us. They then told us well because we were late they decided to give our table away to a walk in. (This table was specifically asked for) but instead they gave it away. They then said they will sit us down in the entrance on a table for 4 and that we would all need to squeeze together, and that was the best they could do. One of the waitresses was eye rolling the whole time, speaking in Greek and giving the worst attitude I’ve ever had to deal with, whilst speaking to my parents with disrespect and nothing but ill manners as she continued to tell us it’s not our problem you’re late, and we either take the table or leave it. (All while it being my Dad’s 50th birthday) Never in my life have I experienced such poor hospitality. Restaurants like this shouldn’t be allowed to operate without sufficient and verified customer service training. Not even that, but to just have the ability to speak to another human being with respect.

I wouldn’t wast your time and give them your money! The stupid restaurant lost out on a £300-£400+ bill that night which we took to another restaurant near by without a booking and they made my Dad feel on top of the world.

Shame on you, and shame on you for owning such a shambles of a restaurant. Honestly, I can’t express enough what a waste of time...

My wife and I both love Greek food after travelling to many of the Greek islands so after visiting a local attraction very close to the Mythos taverna we decided to book it for something to eat when we had finished and we can both honestly say that we we’re not disappointed.

My wife had calamari for a starter and choose a mixed grill for her main course and I choose not to have a starter but a main and a Greek salad all of which were pipping hot, beautifully presented and was very very delicious.

Please note the portion sizes are huge and I would suggest that if you want to try various dishes then choose from the meze (starters) selection as two or three different dishes are certainly large enough to fill the biggest of appetites.

When we book to go again and it won’t be long before we do we will both choose from the meze selection. As previously mentioned my wife had calamari and this came in a large bowl as did the Greek salad.

To say we were pleasantly stuffed is an understatement.

We choose to seat in the outdoor area which is totally covered and enclosed so if it’s raining you can still enjoy your meal alfresco and keep dry if it’s raining.

Only thing that I could say is that you’ll be offered water when you first sit down but be aware they charge you £4.50 for a bottle but if you just want water then go for it. They also charge a 10% service charge which didn’t bother us to much and you can ask for it to be removed from your bill.

Overall a beautifully designed and well payed out taverna right smack bang in the middle of Birmingham but whilst you’re in there it will take you back to your holiday memories, the only thing missing was the sound of lapping waves and a...

My 16 year old cousin, the clown from Schimatari as I like to call her, invited me over the other day, all proud and wide-eyed, saying, “I made halloumi gyros! Just like they do in Athens!” Now listen — she’s only 16, and she’s trying. That’s what matters. I didn’t have the heart to tell her it tasted like the pita lost a bet. I mean, the girl’s still figuring life out. The real kicker? She put so much tzatziki on that gyro, I could’ve bathed in it. I actually checked to see if my elbows were exfoliated after the first bite. Somewhere in there was halloumi, I think. Or at least a sponge impersonating cheese. Needing to salvage my taste buds — and my dignity — I ran to this restaurant. And thank Zeus I did. The halloumi board here? Chef’s kiss. Crispy edges, melty inside — like a grilled hug from Mount Olympus. But listen… whoever’s on tomato duty back there needs to chill. I counted 47 slices. I came here for cheese, not to get jumped by a salad. Still, everything was so tasty I nearly forgave my cousin for her dairy crimes. If you’re looking for a place that reminds you Greek food can be divine (and not a saucy disaster served by an overenthusiastic teenager), this is it.

Wasn’t this a pub? The pub, whose name escapes me, occupied a prominent position on Hurst Street, at the rear of the Arcadian. I remember summer days where folk would gather outside, perched on benches, sipping Special Brew. 8 months ago the scene changed. Mythos Greek Tavern gracefully replaced it and added a much needed Mediterranean flavour. I love the decor. Red flowers, old photographs and wooden articulately tools decorate the interior. It’s bright, modern and quintessentially Greek. It is laid back service, which will not suit the anxious and jittery. I was presented with the lunch time special and full menu. The former has the offer of 2 starters and 1 main for £15. One of the best deals I’ve experienced on the Birmingham restaurant circuit. I was served some of the best examples of Greek cuisine I’ve ever had. Lovely presentation and very zesty in flavour. It’s a big old place and by the look of the menu, it caters for large groups.

I came here with my partner and two of our friends on a Friday evening for a meal. As soon as we walked on, I felt like I was in Greece. The decor was lovely and instantly set the atmosphere. The team were friendly and and helpful from the start. We ordered some drinks, a mixture of cocktails, wine and beer. Everything was presented lovely and tasted great! The food was amazing. The choice on the menu was brilliant, which made it difficult to pick. All the food we had was fantastic! True Greek flavours. There was also greek dancing carried out by the staff towards the later part of the evening which you were invited to take part in if you wished to. There was plate smashing as well which you could buy and do yourself during the greek dancing. Overall, we all had a fantastic time and were talking about when we next be back.
