Me and my group of friends came to watch the arsenal match and at first i thought it was a lovely place. I liked the atmosphere and temperature inside they had a lovely outdoor seating and screen as well as indoors too. My friends had purchased drinks and food however me and my boyfriend were waiting for the match. As he was sat down waiting for the match he slightly closed his eyes and an older lady (white/light blonde short hair in her 60s) who worked here comes over and touched him and first starts with "excuse me love...." it sounded like she was going to be nice and then got extremely rude and disrespectful with a horrible tone and face expression and walked off super rude. mv friends and I looked at each other in in shock and confusion. I was extremely taken back as customers should never be spoken to like that's especially if not reciprocated. In London a customer would never be spoken to like that ever! She was trying to imply to buy a drink if we are going to be here which she has every right to say however the way she went about it was super nasty for no reason. They said it was super busy and people are waiting however the outside was barely "packed" and the inside still had plenty empty tables inside regardless of this even if packed or in a packed whetherspoons in London no customer would never be spoken to like that. I do believe both the customer and worker should be treated with respect so I went to the till to respectfully complain about her behaviour and without listening to my point of view properly the other woman at the register just defended her colleague without any hesitation which really upset me as it wasn't right. I did make sure I said I understand why she approached however the way he was approached was disgusting. The woman then comes over and proceeds to say she was never rude I had to force an apology out of her which is all I wanted however it was definitely not a meaningful apology and very sarcastic. four of my friends witnessed this incident and agreed she was extremely rude. I was very shocked at their approach at the situation it was not handled correctly. From that moment I did not buy any drinks or food from this establishment and I will never be coming back here again unfortunately. Very...
Read moreKicked out for no reason. Me and my friends visited today (Wed 20th Nov). The bar was nearly empty. Half of us ordered a snack and a drink and were talking when one of the guys from the bar (who we were told by his co-worker was called Levi) came up to us and said “so are each one of you gonna get a drink or are you gonna have to leave?” When asked “why”, he began making up some excuses such as “we have to heat it up it costs to heat this place”? Reminder: the bar was nearly empty and our table had ordered drinks and snacks. As we were leaving I still had my drink and I asked “can we have 5 minutes while I finish my drink”, to which he started being rude and said “you can stay, they can leave” and just kept refusing to let my friends wait 5 minutes. When asked to deliver further explanation as to why we are being kicked out, he walked away and did not provide any details. We believe it was unfair for following reasons: The bar was nearly empty, therefore we did not take up anybody’s space and nobody was waiting to take a seat. We were PAYING COSTUMERS. We were not loud and did not behave inappropriately. There was no legitimate reason to kick us out of this bar. This was extremely rude and we will not be...
Read moreEDITED: The response from the owner was not correct - I booked a few days beforehand, and it definitely did NOT show F1, the lady manager was adamant it was all just football and NOT the Spanish Grand Prix on any screen.
ORIGINAL POST: I checked on their website to see if they were showing Formula 1 on Sunday May 22. It said they were. I emailed them to make sure and had a reply saying yes they were showing the Grand Prix. I booked a table on the website. On arrival, no booking had been made. I looked at my email and saw that I had had a reply saying walk ins only. But there were loads of tables with reserved signs on. Hmm. The F1 run up was being shown on the big screen in the garden. Great. But they switched over to the football run up just before the F1 race started. I asked and was told all the screens were for the football and they weren't changing. What a nightmare. I wouldn't have minded but I had double checked they were showing the race. Don't advertise on your website that you show Formula 1 when you don't. Otherwise the bar seems a good spacious venue to watch sport, sadly only...
