My friend and I ordered the caesar salad. Unfortunately, when mixing my salad I found a slug in my meal. I was instantly shocked and put off, and after informing the waiter, she was apologetic and took it away and offered for me to order something else and told me I would not be charged for that salad, however I didn't order anything else as I was not comfortable. My other friend who ordered the same salad asked if her lettuce came from the same place and was also put off. The waitress reassured us and said after cleaning the lettuce the slug somehow found its way in and that the other salad should be okay. We were not completely convinced, but my friend ate a bit of her salad and half way through found a slug in hers as well. We all felt very ill and were honestly holding in not throwing up. After calling over a different waitress she was appalled and very apologetic and came back to tell us our whole meal, drinks and sides would be free of charge. Overall, only the second waitress was very apologetic, and had a normal reaction to this bizarre situation, and I am glad we didn’t have to pay (reason for a 2 and not 1 star service) she apologised and said there really is no excuse. I feel when the first slug was found, the other salad should have been checked and even after asking about it, this was not done. I also feel we should of been offered to not have to pay from the beginning as this is reflective of poor hygiene in the kitchen and questions are raised on how the other food is prepared. I have never encountered this before in any restaurant, and unfortunately would never go to any Bills and warn others to check their food! I advice Bills to not let their waitresses lie to customers when they don't actually know what is going on with how food is prepared, I understand the first waitress could of been told to tell us whatever rubbish to save their skin, however this is very dangerous, as my friend could of became very ill if she...

I really like Bills as a chain and often visit different ones wherever I am in the country so went with some friends to the Birmingham restaurant. Disappointing. While the food was really good, the service was poor. 2 out of 3 of the people serving us either had a chip on their shoulder or rude serving manners.

I really don't appreciate having someone lean right over in super close proximity and the food in front of me (not out of necessity) even down to a condiment requested for myself being put on the other side of me when it could have been placed closer to the edge of the table omitting the need to lean over. There were so many niggles, even down to an under 10 being near on ignored, given a colouring sheet without anything to colour in with, and just generally no warmth there. Had to ask for sauces as not offered, replacement napkins the server had used from the table themselves due to hot plates and not replaced, we weren't checked on or asked if we wanted anything else etc.

Finally I asked discreetly out of ear shot of my guests to have the service charge removed from the bill and then used the bathroom. I got back to the table and was told one of the staff appeared to be extra prickly with them, snatching an item from the table and the way they'd been spoken to by said staff member. Clearly we were not flavour of the month after the request to remove the service charge.

We were a quiet table of 4 simply wanting a decent meal in a nice environment with good basic service. Our young guest was polite as were all the adults. Had we been obnoxious demanding and loud I could understand a little frustration but this establishment has a couple of staff who could do with additional training....one in how to serve a table without imposition and the other some manners and/or anger management.

The 3rd person that helped us I ensured was made aware she'd been fabulous.

Please remember service charge...

Took my partner out for a Father’s Day and birthday lunch and it honestly couldn’t have been a better choice! 🎉🍔

He ordered a burger with upgraded BBQ fries — it came out piping hot, just the way he likes it, and full of flavour. The BBQ seasoning on the fries was a little strong for his personal taste, but that’s just preference — overall, he said it was definitely worth the price.

The staff were amazing — so friendly and attentive, even with how busy it was. They really made him feel special. He used his birthday voucher to get a free bottle of prosecco, and as a fun Father's Day bonus, he got to roll the dice and ended up winning a free drink too! 🥂🎲

The atmosphere was great — full of happy faces, laughter, and a relaxed vibe. It’s the kind of place that makes celebrations feel extra special.

Would absolutely recommend for a birthday, Father’s Day, or any occasion worth celebrating. A really lovely experience from start to finish! 🌟

Me and my daughter treated ourselves to a brunch burger and wow — it did not disappoint! 🍔🔥 It was bursting with flavour, piled high with all the good stuff, and came out hot and fresh, just how we like it. It was served with those delicious Roseberry fries that were perfectly crispy and seasoned just right.

The atmosphere was buzzing — great music playing and a lively, happy vibe all around. Definitely one of those spots that makes you feel like you're in the right place.

We’d both happily give it 9 out of 10 stars — and we’ll absolutely be back! The only downside was the lack of disabled access. I use a mobility walker and had to be lifted up and down a step to get in, which wasn’t ideal and made things a bit tricky.

Still, for the food, the service, and the vibe — it’s a big yes from us. Just hoping they’ll consider an accessible entrance...
