Klassic Grill Bar Restaurant — Restaurant in Birmingham

I'd strongly advise you avoid this place. It operates more like a dive bar rather than a restaurant, not that I'd go there for drinks either since they're range is tiny with 2-3 bottled beers and basic spirits.

I went with my partner and family as they were visiting Birmingham and keen to go to an African restaurant. There was only one table of 4 free when we arrived so they added two more chairs for us - we should have read this as a warning and left. We ordered and waited 1 hour 15 minutes for our food. This was with us chasing this 3-4 times and being told it would be 10-15 minutes each time (lies). We joked as a group about how the slow wait made the place authenticity African - if we didn't laugh we honestly would have cried from being so hungry waiting!

The food itself wasn't worth the wait. We ordered different things, the grilled goat being the best and grilled fish easily the worst as it had too many bones and was overcooked so crispy and dry. The dumplings were good too but I can't recommend anything as I wouldn't wish a visit to this place on anyone.

It seems like the owner knows a lot of the customers so that must be the only thing keeping them in business. The regulars are likely those giving the place good reviews as we went by google reviews...

What they advertised on their menu and what they sent were completely different. I ordered assorted pepper soup and was sent tripe soup with 2 pieces of meat. I also ordered fried rice with assorted meat and I was sent oily rice with soggy vegetable and red stew made with either beef or mutton (Cannot tell the difference). I called the restaurant and I was told the chef would be informed about the assorted pepper soup and that they normally send red stew with their fried rice. The guy I spoke to even said he does not know why they have it as assorted meat on the menu because they always send red stew. I did not get an apology or any sort of compensation from the restaurant. UberEats on the other hand were amazing. They sent me a full refund of what I paid for. Thank you UberEats. This is literally the worst encounter I have ever had with anyone. They messed up my order and I called to let them know they gave me the wrong order. I told them I had driven out 1 hour and they said they can’t send a diver over to replace my order and I should come back next time and my order will be fixed. I proceeded to order from a different restaurant and trashed the wrong order. I was never told to bring back the wrong order in order for them to give me a refund or sort out my order. The next day I call again to let them know I am coming we spoke on the phone you messed up my order. I drove down to then be told I am lying and they won’t give me a refund or replace the wrong order. The owners were so rude I had 3 men shouting at me about their mistake.
