Awful!!! Now let me explain why. I went a few days ago and ordered the JQ Presidential Platter which consisted of lamb chops, pieces of fish and chicken and frozen BBQ chicken wings which I guess were purchased from Iceland (I know as I have bought the same ones). The wings were ladened with some horrific sauce. Now my friend ordered the chicken lasani and garlic naan. Now the chef was Punjabi but the dish looked and tasted something you would expect from a Bengali Indian restaurant. Cannot work that one out. Coming to the garlic naan. They bought it from Tesco (possibly from across the road). I suffered from the worst bout of food poisoning ever and do not wish to go into detail. A chef who cannot cook is a recipe for disaster. I will never go again so enter and eat at your own risk. Just going there for drinks should be fine. But I won't be going. Advice to JQ Bar and Grill - change the chef or close down. Read moreThe Chicken Jalfrazi was very nice and when accounting for drinks (diet coke) and sides (poppadoms, pilau rice, and chips) it was very affordable! I will say that they quite a varied menu which might suggest a "jack of all trades and master of none" scenario. But the food I had was still good quality for the price.
The service was nice, with the manager being very friendly. Some staff seemed quite idle but none of that affected the service we received.
The atmosphere was ok, but it left a bit to be desired. Basically one brightly lit room with TV screens covering the walls with sports channels on. The furniture was comfortable but not aesthetically impressive. There are certainly improvements to be made but it isn't bad.
