We choose The Pig & Tail for a light brunch and was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful and tasty the the place was both metaphorically and physically. Becky was our host and the she was so warm and welcoming she made us some gorgeous Baileys hot chocolate and coffee which went down a treat to brush off the cold chill from the outside . We order from a simple but varied menu which had plenty for the picky for the hungry and for the peckish and the chef done a delightful job cooking the eggs to perfect and the ready of the dishes where a delight to devour. The ambiance in the place was amazing with soft music in the back ground and a warm cosy feeling to accompany it, this is a great place for social gathering or a quite meal I would definitely recommend this place to for a visit so you can see for yourself what a great place The Pig & Tail is. 5 stars for food 5 stars for service 5 stars for ambiance 5 stars for location

Great place for Covid friendly dining. Outdoor beer garden, covered from the elements above and sheltered on all 4 sides. Tables for 2, 4, 6 persons. Probably max 20 people out there. Temperature taken with track & QR scanning on arrival. Menus via QR code, order via the Web page (you have to register, takes a couple of seconds) and your food is delivered to your table. Drinks ordered the same way but paid on delivery with a card machine. This is because the drinks are from the pub, and the food is from the Vendor, Lisa & Pan's Kitchen (Thai) which resides on Caroline Street normally but have teamed up with the Pig & Tail. Friendly welcoming service, great food, great prices. Definitely recommend.

We visited Temper & Brown Pub for a group booking and had a fantastic experience. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, making it a great spot for a get-together. Food service was provided by Esme Caribbean Fusion, which requires pre-booking for parties of 8 or more. This system worked really well — the food came out hot, fresh, and very quickly, which made the whole evening run smoothly. The flavour's were excellent a taste from islands of the Caribbean, adding to the enjoyment of the night. Highly recommend for groups looking for a relaxed setting with delicious Caribbean fusion food and smooth service.

I recently attended your pub for food, drinks, and to take part in the quiz. Which i was really looking forward to as I had heared raving reviews Unfortunately, my evening was completely spoiled due to the way my pub quiz team and I were treated.

During the "name that song" round, our team was disqualified on the grounds of alleged cheating. The quizmaster claimed we were answering too quickly and insisted that, because a song was played on a loop, we could not possibly have identified it correctly. This assumption was both illogical and unfounded. When challenged, we clearly stated the correct song and band, and explained that one of our team members is a DJ. Despite this, the so called "quizmaster" dismissed us, spoke to us rudely in front of the entire pub, crossed his arms and walked away without listening to our explanation.

Later, when approached politely during the break, the quizmaster admitted he could not prove we had cheated, yet still refused to reinstate us. I paid £27 to take part in this quiz and was left feeling humiliated, upset, and deeply disappointed by the way the matter was handled. One of my team members was even close to tears due to the public accusation.

I believe we are owed both an apology and a refund. I have never been spoken to in such a manner in a public setting, and I would not recommend this establishment to anyone based on this experience.

This Happened a couple of weeks ago and it still upsets me

Also No one checked on us after food was served and plates weren't cleared away till we placed them on another table Maybe need more than 2 staff on...

The food was great, but our orders came out wrong and the person who served us insisted it wasn’t wrong and said ‘I know it’s correct as I put the order through, I’m walking away now’ (we had a list of what we’d ordered and cross checked but the server insisted they were correct). The missing meal arrived much later.

The sides and starters all arrived way after our main meals, we ordered salt fish and was given corn fritters because they’d ran out, and our dumplings never arrived, we didn’t get any of the missing or incorrect items refunded, the mac and cheese and plantain arrived ages after all our mains had been eaten, we were planning to eat it all together.

We were a big table and I understand the order was large and I have experience working in food so I know how high stress it can be, so I do understand, however no apology was given and the large delays were not communicated effectively, a lot of this could’ve been resolved with clear communication instead of hostility and lack of accountability.

Unfortunately the service and lack of organisation really let things down, had this side of things been better I would have 100% been a repeat customer as the food was nice! It was also my family members birthday meal so it’s a shame things weren’t...

Decided to have an Easter lunch here with family as we have been for a drink previously and loved the atmosphere ,interior and music. The lunch is sold as a Caribbean fusion which suited the party. Our table was booked for 3.30 so we sat for a short while deciding what we would like to eat. When we went to the bar to order we were told there was no beef, no salmon, no macaroni cheese and no Yorkshire puddings 😔 all dishes that we had visited for . When the meal came the roast potatoes were soggy, and the vegetables were overcooked. The rice and peas and plantain was ok . Nobody came to ask if the meal was ok hence the 1 star for service. The chicken and mutton were delicious and cooked to perfection. We were very disappointed that our Easter lunch was so sub standard . When we arrived at the pub and said that we had a table booked it would have been nice for someone to tell us that some dishes were not available prior to us ordering drinks . We could then have decided whether to say. It’s very obvious that this pub is a labour of love but someone really needs to pay attention to the kitchen or close it to save...
