I have never experienced such appalling customer service. Went with my partner, neither of us were greeted upon entry. Stood waiting at the reception desk whilst the waiter stood directly in front of us inputting orders in the till (still not addressing us), he then went into the kitchen acting as if we weren’t there. There were two customers sitting down waiting to be seated, one of them told us they were told it was a 20 minute wait. Another couple came in after around 5 minutes (we had still not been spoken to at all). The waitress then went to the couple that had just come through the door and told them she’d separate the 6 seater table so they could be seated. I interrupted her and told her we were waiting to be seated. We got a table after around 15 minutes, it then took around 20 minutes for the waitress to take our order despite the fact we told both the waiter and the waitress we were ready to order. 2 tables ordered after us and received their food first. After 30 minutes I had to ask for my drink as it had not been given. After 45 minutes we received one order, the order was incorrect so it got sent back (we didn’t receive an apology for this or any explanation as to why the order was messed up). A further 15 minutes later my partner received her food (my food was still not ready). 15 minutes later my partner had finished her food, I told the waiter I no longer wanted my food as we’d already waited over an hour and a half from when we arrived. There was no apology for the wait time, no apology for the mess up of the order and no comment when I told him I no longer wanted my order, he nodded his head and told me the price for the drink and my partners order. Won’t be returning because they’ve got no manners and no customer service. It’s a shame the lovely interior goes to waste. My advice would be to get new staff because I’m unsure if any amount of training would save them...

This was my second time coming here. The first time I came we did not get seated as it was packed and the wait was 1 hour. It is a cafe so be weary that there is less seating. We ordered the 3 breakfast stacks and a vegan breakfast. The food took about 45 minutes to come. When it did come, it looked very aesthetic and pretty but unfortunately no one liked the food as it had no taste and was very cold. The only thing which was nice was hash browns but they were shopped bought so really no points on there. The eggs had no taste. The beans were cold. The potatoes were not fully cooked but the spice was there. The toast was very small and did not go well with the rest of the breakfast. The sausages did not taste nice at all and were very small. The only thing which was appetising from the breakfast was the fruits. There was an issue with my food and the waitress was very nice and offered to give a new breakfast plate but by then I had tried everything and didn’t like anything on the plate so just asked if it could be taken off the bill and she did take it off. So the breakfast stack sadly gets a 2/10 and the points is only for the fruits (which is not even part of the breakfast meal) and the hash browns. The vegan breakfast had falafel which tasted okay but had no flavour. Same as the breakfast stack beans were cold and taste wasn’t all that. Person who ordered it would rate it 3/10 so was okay for them. We ordered the hot chocolates which tasted okay. They did come first within 20 mins. So unfortunately by the time the breakfast was here was cold. Also we tried the fresh mango juice and it was not yummy at all. So definitely do not try fresh juices. We were skeptical to try it at first as the table next to us had left their full drinks left. Overall the food was not it at all. I think it’s more hyped because of their aesthetic. It had no taste and is overpriced for...

Standard of the food was appalling. Complete and utter waste of money. Looked impressive but was very cold and extremely bland. Gave a replacement but still parts were cold. The breakfast plate was mainly filled with egg and fruit which is not what was advertised and what I paid for. Sausages and turkey rashers were tiny compared to what they used to serve-definitely money saving from the owner. Avacado was brown and tasted off. Food was really not edible and struggled to eat it so was left. Service wasn’t great as staff were not attentive. If a customer is not happy with the food and it is replaced then the server should have asked if everything was ok but clearly it is not about the customer but about making money. Asked for water and wasn’t given it. The water was sat at the counter for a while and the staff member we asked did not think to pass it on to us. Had to ask again. Coffee was served in a disposable cup-not impressed! Ordered decaf coffee as caffeine doesn’t agree with me but later realised it was caffeinated-totally unacceptable not to mention the detrimental affects it could have on a person who has reactions to these things-have been left in pain! Extremely disappointed with every aspect. Definitely not worth the prices they are charging. I understand it is a business but the Owner should not just be thinking about money making. We work hard and are happy to pay for good food and service. Wish I had read previous reviews. Owner should not be writing generic responses to negative reviews stating that they ‘aim’ to provide because that shows lack of care. If you are receiving similar negatives reviews think about your customers and change the ‘aim’ into ‘we will’. Clearly there is no care so definitely will not be returning and will be advising others...

My family and I visited Lekker yesterday for a birthday brunch, and unfortunately, our experience fell significantly short of expectations, set by my sister who frequently visits Lekker. Upon arrival, the waiting area was obstructed by luggage from a large bridal party. We also felt ignored by the staff until my Mum initiated contact first. The “manager” asked my Mum and a couple behind us to note their names and number on the waiting list. When my Mum enquired about the seating time, the manager's response regarding seating time ("people can stay as long as they like") seemed irrational for a small café, as the café is extremely popular. After a 30 mins wait, during which my mother removed her name from the list due to the couple after us were already seated and an unclear wait time. It was then that my Mum had to reference GDPR when questioned rudely by the manager as to why she removed her name. After an additional 15 mins, we were finally seated though to our further disappointment, we then overheard another customer expressing anger about staff clearing his and his daughter’s unfinished meal. However, once we ordered our food - it arrived promptly (20 mins - considering the food are all cooked from fresh) and we were extremely impressed with the presentation, quality, and taste of the food. The drinks and cookies were very nice too and the two women staff were extremely helpful and professionals. Overall, the café is average at best. Personally, the café needs to implement a booking system (especially on weekends) as the waiting list thing doesn’t and hasn’t been working. Secondly, the staff need additional training on customer service and maintaining clean work clothes.
