Disgusting service and overall experience from the restaurant staff. Myself and 7 of my work colleagues arrived on a quiet Wednesday evening roughly at 8:30pm. The restaurant was quiet, but as soon as we walked inside the greetings staff member and manager who was standing just behind didn't look very happy to welcome us. They immediately told us as we have not booked they are unable to seat us, when we asked can they not place some tables together like other Nandos around the area have done no problem in the past they told us that is not possible for health and safety? We then decided on 2 tables separate from one another and even then the staff member who seated us was extremely rude and arrogant and made us feel that they do not want us to dine here (for whatever underlining issue).
Myself then very kindly asked 2 gentlemen who had just sat down few minutes before who was sitting against the long bench row that could easily sit 8 of us if they wouldn't mind that we take the row and they move to a nearby booth that was vacant (that sits max 6). They was more than happy and even said after over hearing the staff not willing to seat us together that they would have volunteered to move. The manager on duty (named Carys) when we asked to come over and we explained they have volunteered to move and the empty bench row will seat us no problem became extremely rude and angry and told us 'how dare we ask customers to move'. We explained that they are volunteering and the very kind gentleman even stepped in and said he wishes to move as well.
Cary ignored the gentleman and said the bottom line is we can not sit together. After this situation we all had lost our appetite and told the Cary that we do not wish to dine at the restaurant, in which she replied 'ok thanks', and another staff member immediately went over to the entrance and opened the door for us to leave.
After leaving we called Wednesbury Gallagher Retail Park Nandos and asked if they can seat 8 of us in short notice (as it was close to 9pm at this point and they closed at 10pm and we would need to drive 20-25 minutes there). They said yes of corse no problem you do not need to book and please come over. They seated us at 9:55pm and happily served us until we finished our food at 11:15pm and was extremely kind and polite. The complete opposite of Carys attitude and Mailbox restaurant.
I have filed an official compliant with Nandos head office after this experience. We will not be visiting this Nandos again nor will any our friends or family....

There was no communication of this I had a refund and left by which time 40 minutes had passed and the food had only just hit the grill. I complained when I got home the manager did not contact me within timescales. I then had to escalate the complaint which only made matters worse.
Eventually after emails going back and forth I had a reply from Customer Experience stating the manager did called me this was not true. I did eventually have a conversation with the manager who said she called me and left a voicemail buuuut my number does not have that facility which I pointed out, she then said I was laughing at her throughout the call and was not allowing her to resolve my issues another lie she was unprepared and not equipped to deal with my complain. If I was laughing so much how did I hear her say she called me and left a message, that she was told staff informed me there would be a wait.
I wrote a letter of complaint to Head Office, this was ignored and I had to chase for updates with the regional MD as he was the only contact I had. I was made to wait over 10 working days for a reply, however in receiving this response I have been labeled a liar and my integrity is in question.
I choose to attend this branch due to it being consistent and being walking distance, since the arrival of the current manager not so much but very dependant on who is on shift there are a few good staff members. I have gone from 5-6 times a week to once every 2-3 weeks and now it will be 0. I am told I am a valued customer of over 17 years however I have been treated so poorly by particular members of staff and it is acceptable and that I can go to other branches
Why would I go back after this, all over some grilled chicken that didnt even make it to my table and their inability to provide an effective service on this occasion and the additional failure of not resolving it in a professional and...
Read moreAs a huge fan of Nandos who hadn't been to one for a year...was really looking forward to visiting Nandos Mailbox.Was working in area so went in mid week after work.Initial impressions weren't great.Very dark & grubby inside .Sat at a table which confirmed it was less than pristine.Ordered my food & was told it would be a 15 min wait.Fine....The v nice member of staff pulled out a glass....had lipstick on it😭pulled out another...filthy,the third has lip prints.The fourth glass looked ok...very off-putting.Resturant was about a third full so became a bit concerned after 30 mins as to where my food was.Went up to ask & was told your good is on the grill.There it was on its own... To finish it off the chicken was unbelievably overdone & rubbery...think they forgot about it.Ate most of it as I was really hungry by then The only bad Nandos I've ever had. There's nothing worse than a bad meal...so left thinking that's the last time I eat at Nandos.Sad.Also, extremely surprising this is in The Mailbox...you would presume the standards would...
