A really excellent pub in the centre of Birmingham, one of my favourite ever pubs. A substantial range of real ale, craft beers, lagers, spirits, and everything in between. The interior is absolutely stunning and has been really nicely restored. The acoustics of the building are great, even when it is busy you can have a conversation without shouting. Bar staff are very helpful, know their stuff, and are rightfully proud of the range on offer. Pizzas are also available, which smell amazing, however I have yet to try them. If you're in Birmingham don't overlook this pub, you won't be disappointed.

While it is great to have another choice of city centre pub, why do they have to charge ridiculous prices. I would not mind if service was excellent or drinks special. But to justify ยฃ12+ for a pint of average beer and large G&T (no choice of gin given) is unexplainable. Can get better and friendlier service with more choice in my local Wetherspoons for half the cost! While decor was interesting and looked good (as it is fresh and new) I will not be spending much if my hard earned money here!

High quality beers from Thornbridge with a selection of pizzas on the food menu - it's a winning combination ๐Ÿ˜‹ There's a few other food options (salads, nibbles etc) and an extensive wider drinks menu. The decor is lovely and makes the place feel very inviting. I was back in Birmingham for business so dining alone but there was a pleasant background chatter from other customers that added to the warm atmosphere.

Having tried to contact both the colmore and its parent companies, and having no response I feel the need to address an issue through this review. I visited the bar early on a Friday evening, the bar was relatively quiet and I ordered a drink from the menu with the barman (once he'd finished yawning in my face) After a few minutes of routing in a fridge, questions to a colleague, more grumbling, further questions about measure sizes etc I was given my drink. I asked for some Ice in it and I was then subject to an aggressive rant about how I was 'being smart' and should have asked for ice when ordering. I tried to protest but was just shouted down with him saying he 'could just not serve me' I was genuinely shocked and decided to leave. I was baffled by the attitude, I'd been pleasant and quiet whilst waiting and it wasn't an obscure drink, indeed it has its own box in the center of the menu! I tried to get the barman's name from the bouncer but he wouldn't tell me! There is also no ownership of issues when you read the bad reviews, it smacks of a toxic culture throughout the company. Birmingham has a huge number of decent bars, the majority have friendly professional staff. Sadly it seems the colmore isn't one of them and I would recommend you think twice before visiting. Update: still nothing back from the...

First visit was a Friday night and really liked this pub/bar. A new smell hits you of wood when you walk in. Lovely decorated interior with lots of seating at tables, long seats or high tables. Range of beers is fantastic, don't think I had heard of them so tried a couple of the guest ales. Don't expect the cheapest prices but they are very fair compared to bars around. About a fiver a pint the ones I tried. Service was great, the place was lovely and warm, door staff pleasant and young lady behind bar thanked us and wished us goodnight on the way out. Nice touch as she was probably not the manager but just a reflection of the level of service all night. Toilets very clean and found downstairs past the pool table (doesn't seem to suit the place but fills a gap). Overall recommend you give it a go if you like a variety of beers. Easily found on Colmore Row towards Theatrix and the...

The Colmore is my favourite pub in Birmingham. When you look at it from the outside it's very easy to make assumptions about what kind of venue it will be - it's such a beautifully presented space that the obvious assumption is that it will be pretentious and uncomfortable.

This couldn't be further from the truth. The atmosphere is friendly and casual, with genuinely the warmest, friendliest staff of any pub I've been to in central Birmingham - or honestly even significantly further afield. The range of beer is also amazing - it's flexible enough that you always know you'll have something different each time, but consistent enough that you always know whatever you have will be amazing.

The Colmore is my favourite pub in Birmingham, and while I go there less frequently than I'd like I can't recommend it...
