KFC — Restaurant in Bolton

How to start what should be a good review but unfortunatly it isn't, I have to give 1 star to make the review, otherwise I wouldn't give a star at all. Right from the offset things were bad. Watching a member of staff 'work' slower than a sloth was bad enough but what he did was worse. A child asked for a bucket to use, he gave him one, few minutes later child came back with the bucket and who I assumed was his father and asked to change the bucket for a lid. Dutifully the staff member swapped the bucket for a lid. The member of staff then returned the now fondled bucket back to the stack of buckets, the ones that are used for putting food in. So the next person ordering a bucket meal got this bucket that should have been thrown away, it had been fondled by a child, been on his head and generally played with until being returned to the staff member. I don't want to go down the road saying these people were dirty, but regardless of this, the bucket should have been binned. We had been served by this time and were painfully waiting and watching as our food was taking very long to make up. The place was very very quiet and a good job really as they clearly were struggling. A table that was dirty when we arrived, had still not been cleaned, the bin was overflowing meaning you couldn't empty your own rubbish into it and to top it all the ladies toilets was flooded with urine. The restaurant floor was sticky and you could see were liquids had been spilled but not cleaned up adequately. Some tables looked to have been given a superficial wipe, not a good clean down after a customer had used it, only takes 30 seconds to spray and wipe down a table. Staff seemed to not really have much care for what they were doing, or not doing. Upon leaving, non of the tables had been seen to, the bin was still in a state of disorder. The staff just didn't appear to have the skill set to manage the place properly. As far as food goes, the usual KFC experience albeit with bacon that needed longer cooking. The fries were probably the best part of the meal of which we had Daddy Burger meals. It was tea time and should have been packed out but it was quiet. Thier was no atmosphere, just very quiet with no music playing. We will not be using this KFC again, the very poor hygiene standards, slow customer service and overall feel of the place doesn't make you want to return, you'd be better going to the rival fast food outlets who are not far away. So until they improve thier cleanliness and sort out some staff training, I would advise going elsewhere...

Bow although I issued one start for service, the caveat here is that while the staff were polite and professional, we are told they can't accept and order at the desk. This is ridiculous at the frankly obscene prices they charge for food here. It's not a premium product, it is vile cheap fast food. £38 to feed a family of 4 when you receive the tiniest burgers, measly portions of signature fries, and popcorn chicken for the little fella looked like it came from a Shopkins egg. Music was awful - that cannot be the corporate playlist. Half empty save for noisy kids banging on the windows and swearing. Tables left filthy even though it's empty. And no option to just go up and order discuss the menu with a staff member and pay. I don't work for KFC so why the hell am I basically processing my own order? Terrible experience and hands down the worst place to eat in Bolton. Really sorry but a terrible experience. And yet apparently they are making record profits and doing very nicely at Yum! - obviously this abject experience...

I don't know what's happened to KFC recently, but it's just all gone even further downhill. Tried to make my order on the automated screen to find that it couldn't give me a large meal and select a Pepsi, so I went to the till. Stand there for 5 minutes whilst the girl behind the counter stares at the order screen facing away from me. I then order a large meal, she puts it through and I take my receipt. She gave me a regular meal, I informed her I ordered a large one. I ask for a large but I'm told I only paid for a regular.

She then tuts and gives me another fries. I ask her for a large drink as well where ahe proceeds to take away my regular drink, and then gives me another regular drink.

The floor is dirty, tables are dirty, chips on the floor. And just generally unloved. I used to only come here when I was hung over and I made the mistake of coming without that hung over hankering for fried filth. I think I should stick with only coming when...
