The food is usually good quality. A recent visit had me a little perturbed. The staff were more interested in chatting and preparing their own food for their breaks than serving customers. The manager was too busy cashing up tills to manage the team. Luckily the supervisor, a young lady with some really awesome Star Wars tattoos, rose to the challenge and kept the shift running. It was still apparent though that the service was lacking from the rest of the team. In addition, they are consistently closed for takeaway. It’s just a running joke in our house now that Nandos won’t be able to handle the orders in the evenings and they’ll be closed. Can be really frustrating. It seems there must be an understaffing issue if they do consistently close a major ordering method like Deliveroo. Sometimes we just need a Nandos fix and the store has been doing delivery long enough now that they should be able to handle it. I worked for Nandos for years on Co-Ord and would never have seen the store close a method of taking orders. Brentwood seems unable to handle the volume of orders, which is a shame. Perhaps they need a better labour budget to accommodate the local community. Although it appears head office do not see the benefit of increased staff to take increased orders. A real shame as the food quality is often better than surrounding...
Read moreUnfortunate Birthday at Nando's: Seeking a laid-back atmosphere for my New Year's Eve birthday while I was feeling unwell, Nando's seemed like the perfect choice—until our dinner plans turned into disappointment. The news of running out of whole chicken extended our wait to 30-40 minutes. Hoping to salvage the evening, we ordered chicken livers as a starter, priced at a hefty £9. To our surprise, it arrived as a small bowl with a single bread roll, and an extra roll set us back another quid! As a proud Portuguese, I can whip up a pot at a fraction of the cost. The seemingly dry reheated livers and stale extra roll only added insult to injury. To compound matters, our meal was slightly undercooked when it arrived, necessitating a return to the grill. By the time we finally sat down to eat at 9 pm, an hour later, the restaurant was closing, leaving us no choice but to take our meal away. The saving grace? The staff's friendliness. Nando's, charging a premium for mediocre dishes, won't cut it. What is happening to British hospitality? Portions and quality are decreasing, yet...
Read moreDon’t ever consider this branch of Nando’s(Brentwood). The worst Nando’s branch I’ve ever been. So I came in tonight to spend quality time with my parents and brother but these guys messed up my order. They put aside my order for 20 minutes, so it came cold and the sauce sank deep into the chicken and looked and tasted like rubbish. And it took them 48 minutes to bring the whole order (it was an order for 3 people). The chicken was pink inside. And the order that they messed up they said they’re going to cook a new one but instead they reheated the order and it also came to mind they gave us burnt and reheated chips/fries. Instead of giving fresh food they just said “sorry”. Nando’s was my favourite but I was so disappointed that I ended up eating a Sainsbury’s meal deal which appeared to be much better. We should’ve been smarter and went KFC or Wagamama. I...
