First time visiting here! Popped in for a drink and catch up with a friend and my daughter. I wasn't aware they served food here and would have stayed for our lunch had we not already put a deposit down for a table at another local restaurant. After we had left and had our meal.. we did however come back for dessert! It was fabulous! My daughter had the ice-cream and homemade cookie which she loved, I had the trio of desserts - chocolate brownie with vanilla ice-cream, lemon tart and white chocolate crème brulée... All I thoroughly enjoyed and would have again in a heartbeat! My friend had the Sicilian lemon tart which she also really enjoyed! 😋 Service was brilliant and we weren't waiting long to have our food served. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The pub itself was clean and has a lovely 'homey' feel, it has seating up and downstairs, plus plenty of seating outside for those dryer days - it was pouring with rain today unfortunately. Really did enjoy coming here though and will be back again very soon. Thanks for a great experience 😁

Had to send a very over cooked pizza back it was burnt all round the edges and the toppings were unrecognizable and no melty cheese. The second effort was only slightly less burnt but I was starving and couldn't be bothered to send it back again. The service was actually quite good though didn't recieve an apology for the overcooked pizza. Why pubs and restaurants in England find it so hard to apologies. It would make all the difference. My client ordered a trio of cheesecakes and they accidentally delivered an extra one to me. I tried it and it was so dry and unappetising. Needed twice as much sauce that was offered. I felt sorry for each strange ball shaped cheesecake I think they just wanted to roll off the plate and go back to sleep in the packet they obviously came from. This pub poses as a gastropub but it's not. The food was ordinary with no individuality. It didn't taste fresh. The place has a huge restaurant upstairs which was empty which does not surprise me. A pint of neck oil beer was nearly £7...dear oh dear I'm sure Bristol can do alot better than this.

Got here on a Sunday right at the opening hours. We had no table booked, so we were seated in the bar area, which was perfectly fine and still atmospheric. The menu is quite decent, many interesting options, well marked with calories and vegetarian/vegan/etc options. We opted for a fondue for two as a starter, which was divine and really well portioned. At first, I thought there may not be enough cheese for the two of us, but there was plenty to have good generous dips of bread. I had chicken Sunday roast, which came nicely presented, with a separate bowl of greens. It was cooked well, a good portion of chicken (breast and drumstick) , delicious gravy and veggies. Was tempted for a dessert but really had no more room left. But definitely a great place for a Sunday roast, and I'm sure I'll be back soon to try out more of their menu!

I recently visited The Hole in the Wall pub in Bristol and had an outstanding experience. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the exceptional service provided by our waitress, Irina. Despite being incredibly busy and rushed off her feet, Irina was incredibly kind, helpful, and attentive throughout our meal. Her dedication and hard work truly stood out and made our dining experience special. The food at The Hole in the Wall was equally impressive. I ordered the burger, which was delicious, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. My companion opted for the prawn linguine, and it was simply awesome – fresh, well-seasoned, and thoroughly enjoyable. Overall, The Hole in the Wall offers not only great food but also outstanding service. Kudos to Irina for her amazing hospitality! We will definitely be returning.
