We ate at Prezzo for my son’s 18th birthday on New Years Eve lunch time. As usual our food was delicious as too were our drinks.
The location and interior of the restaurant is very nice, pretty and tasteful.
However, the service we experienced was terrible. When we arrived I discussed with the female waitress that I would like to use my clubcard vouchers and although we were dining with friends, we would like a separate bill, given that our friends would like to use their blue light card and keep it simple in terms of tabs. The waitress confirmed that this would be ok as we were not able to use the two offers on one order.
When our waiter arrived at the table, he asked me how I am and before I had chance to respond he said ‘yes I am very well thanks for asking’, which I felt was incredibly rude. For the entire meal he then challenged our food choices (my sister can’t eat red meat as she has low salt intake due to kidney failure. He then challenged anything else she asked for by saying, if you are a vegetarian you can’t eat this. She did not say she was a vegetarian).
At the end of our meal, we asked for the two tabs. Our friends paid first and us after. I was then told we can not use our vouchers as our friends had used their BLC. I noted that I checked this on arrival and asked for two tabs. The waiter then loudly debated with me, before I refused to pay after being told on arrival this would be ok. I also noted when we booked the table I was using my clubcard vouchers. Despite saying he could not use my vouchers, he eventually allowed me to pay and I paid the rest in cash. The waiter then was notably gossiped about our table with his colleagues, in front of other customers, which made us feel very uncomfortable.
We love prezzo and usually go there for all family birthdays as it suits everyone’s dietary needs and we love the atmosphere. However, on this occasion we have been disappointed at the rude comments and unprofessional approach to a clear miscommunication between colleagues.
I felt that our waiter took a disliking to us as soon as we arrived, and reading the other reviews, this appears to be a common factor in terms of the service...
Read moreWent out for dinner with a friend this evening to prezzo harbour side Bristol as I was actually recommended to it . On arrival we were told to 'Hang on a minute' and then hola'd at by another member of staff to follow them to the table. We were sat close to the bar and the kitchen doors so was a lot of foot traffic going by us .... and a cold draft we asked to move to the table by the wall to be more comfortable. We were asked what wine we would like - we requested Pinot Nero (noir) the waitress told me this was a rose (I am aware it's a pale red but certainly not rose) she then went to check and come back and confirmed what we first told her ! We then also ordered our food - 2x baked mushrooms and 2 lasagne and chips and one cheese garlic bread as a side dish ....... OKAAAAY ... nothing complex!! The garlic bread came out first .... then nothing .... then our lasagne and chips came ... my friend asked where our mushrooms were to which we got a reply 'oh I forgot' I asked to speak to the shift manager who then came up and asked did we still want them ? along side our mains - well no we didn't to be quite honest we wanted a starter as a starter - not a banquet all at once - so as I asked her to take the lasagne away and bring it back AFTER OUR STARTER was done she then shrugged her shoulders and said ok ... anyway all went well after that and the food was ok but easily matched in the frozen section of a supermarket. We refused the sweet menu and finished our wine and then delightfully had a guy walk by and drop our bill on the table - very impolite way to end the disappointing evening !!!! Prezzo you need to sharpen your staff and pay attention to detail as tonight's experience was a complete let down !!!!!! Will not be going...

I recently tried the fried calamari dish at this restaurant, hoping for a satisfying mix of crispiness, flavor, and balance. While there were glimpses of potential, the overall experience was unfortunately underwhelming, both in the food and the service.
The calamari itself had a nice taste and the batter was seasoned well, showing some attention to flavor. However, the texture varied wildly some pieces were tender and enjoyable, while others were tough and overly chewy, which made it hard to enjoy consistently.
The dipping sauce was another low point. It was overly oily and fatty, with barely any flavor coming through. Instead of enhancing the calamari, it left a greasy, heavy feeling that clashed with the dish.
The tomato bruschetta was also poorly executed. Rather than being served on a single, hearty piece of baguette, it came on three tiny slices that fell apart easily. The tomatoes were cut in awkward, oversized halves instead of being diced or chopped smaller, so they kept falling off the bread. It was messy and felt lazily assembled. The pesto on top was unmistakably store-bought lacking any fresh, homemade quality.
Unfortunately, the disappointing food was matched by slow and unpleasant service. The staff gave off an unwelcoming attitude, with little warmth or attentiveness throughout the visit. It added to the sense that corners were being cut not just in the kitchen, but across the board.
There were flickers of potential in the dish, but the lack of care in preparation and presentation combined with the lackluster service made for an overall disappointing experience. I won’t be rushing back...
