Visited here on Saturday with a group of friends and we had booked in advance. The service was quick, although ordering felt very rushed, with one person cut off before even finishing their order. Food, although looked nice, was unfortunately not up to par. The butter chicken lacked flavour and arrived lukewarm. We were also presented with two different sized portions of pilau rice. When raised with staff, members of our group were made to feel uncomfortable and staff were dismissive. One even sarcastically asked afterwards “Do you have enough rice now”. Thought it was a shame overall as the restaurant is in a nice location. I can also see below that the restaurant responded to a review left by one of our party stating that we grumbled about the wait time. This is not the case. We did not complain about this, in fact the speedy service was probably the only good thing about this restaurant. They also did not remove the service charge for us, so it’s good to know that they are happy to lie to protect their reputation. I’d advise people avoid this restaurant as there are plenty which will offer better food and better service. Update Response: Thank you for pointing out that you were incorrect in your previous response, in that we did not complain about the speed of service. It seems you didn’t actually read my review because I did not complain about the size of the curry (This photo was included as proof that I dined in the restaurant, as I wouldn’t put it past you to claim that I didn’t) I mentioned that you provided two different portion sizes of PILAU RICE. I note as well that no mention was made of the rude comment your server made, poor attitude of staff members and lying about removing the 10% service charge, which again I state YOU DID NOT REMOVE. Avoid this restaurant at all costs unless you enjoy being spoken to rudely, called a liar, and like bang average food.

Came here while in Bristol because I was too tired to venture to another venue I preferred (this was close to my hotel). Whenever in the UK I must get Indian food. It tends to be so much better than my available places in the US (with the exception of Kashmir - see my review). The menu here is very extensive which is a warning sign as Indian cuisine is vast and varied. I asked the waiter where the cooks are from and he said both north and south. So I decided to try the chicken chettinad which I have trouble finding in my area as everyone is from Nepal or Punjab. I also ordered the pilau rice. The chettinad was ok. Good chili level but too salty - and the chicken appeared to be from a tikka kebab - so over-spiced and a bit dry. The pilau rice also was decent but a bit weak. No cloves. Service was very friendly. They were very busy at 9 pm. The inside is nice if a bit noisy. But well decorated. All in all if I find myself in Bristol again I will try a different place. It wasn’t better than what I can get in a just ok place in the US.

An amazing meal at Tilka flame yet again. Welcomed in by the friendly staff. The seating is cosy and decor is amazing. I sat on the cushioned bench seat. Plenty of time given to look at the menu, during the time we had some poppadoms and dip tray. Our order was taken, to which the waiter remembered the whole order in his head. Amazing. I had the BBQ prawns which were so meaty and tasty. The samosas were also very tasty. The salad on the side very refreshing. For mains, the tklka masala with garlic rice. Great presentation and so flavourful. I couldmt fault any of it accept being very full by the end of the meal. My mum had a Jalfraze which she again couldnt fault. The naan bread was also so light and fluffy. It was all so fresh and tasty and you could smell it being cookee which was amazing. The staff were very friendly and approachable. Its our second visit and will be coming again.

Having paid the congestion charge and parking to come to zaza initially but no room we found around the corner This TIKKA FLAME Indian restaurant.

There was 11 people only so hardly packed . So not busy.

We Sat & Look at menus 15/ min go by no drink waiter back and forth the tables v slow.

I went to loo and said ready to order, still didn't come over. 30 mins later my son had his beer ( I was told I had to wait for cocktails) ordered the offer two for £11 and told I had to have 2 the same... asked for a water in mean while no water, so sat without a drink over half hour!

Almost 45 mins later food order taken. !!

By time we finished the food we had been sat in there over 2 hours! This was my birthday meal. The other customers looked miserable not getting served quickly as just this one slow young man there in his own as we was finishing our food another member of staff came into work and the 2 girls that sat down much later than we arrived was served drinks and food almost instantly!! The food was good and hot but the service terrible !! We had to put more money on our parking ticket which then lended up going over £15!

Not the birthday meal treat I was expecting. Would of got better service in spoons!

Won't be going back paid...

10/10 for food and service. Highly recommend this place! What a find and what a pleasant surprise. Me and my mrs, walking through town looking online for the best curry houses in Bristol city centre and 20 feet from us is this place… we couldn’t of been happier. Took a chance by not checking reviews or even the menu. The moment we walked in the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The place was busy and had a real buzz to it. Authentic feeling with a modern touch decor wise. Food was delivered within a decent time frame given how busy it was but we drank most of a gorgeous bottle of Malbec while we waited with popadoms and dips.

The food…. Sensational. Sorry but it really was! We’ve visited India 4 times and travelled it for months on 2 of those visits and trust me, the food in this restaurant is THAT GOOD it took us straight back to that wonderfully country within the first bite. Neither of us could fault anything from on the plate 👌🏾.

Definitely going back when In Bristol next 100%.

Thank you to the staff 🙏🏿 we even had to tell the chefs personally at the end how good...
