Went back recently after a long time and sadly there were quite a lot of issues.
We booked a table but we got there and were told that we didnt have a booking despite the confirmation email. We were sat and were given the menus which were quite oily and dirty. The staff were kind but it took around 15 minute to get items ordered and were told we can only order starters and drink. The drinks were not right with appletizer arriving rather then elderflower press and diet coke rather than normal coke. The wine didnt come until after the starters were done and we had to ask it twice. Then after the starter we had to wait quite a long time to order our main. They have said that they were short of staff but the chaos in the restaurant could be felt and other people were also having to stand up themselves to get cutlery and to find staff to order.
The patsee ew tasted quite not right and could not have finished it. All the noodles were cut very short and had a strange after taste. My partner ordered a different dish but pad thai arrived and after we told them this is not what we have ordered they just said thats what she had on the order and did not apologise or change the item.
Then in the second floor there were food items such as reduced eggs on customer table and it felt not hygienic that the food was on the hot second floor rather than in the pantry.
Then when it came to paying the bill the receipt included wrong orders and they have placed same items twice. We ask them to amend it but it took 4 changes….she said she has removed the service charge but it was just a very poor experience. I dont think it was to do with less amount of staff but the moral and the organisation was very poor. Hopefully they can improve...
Read moreAbsolutely love Thai food, and this restaurant serves dishes that never fails to get the taste buds zinging! I really like it here, as the staff are so friendly and approachable (it is a well established family run business), and the menu has lots of dishes to try. Two of us visited on a Friday evening, walking in with no reservation and found the place with a gently buzzing ambience. I'd describe the decor and feeling as convivial. We shared a starter of tofu tempura, which sounds better than it is, especially with sweet chilli dipping sauce. Then we had a beef dish and a tofu and cashew nut dish, that were SO tasty! With a shared bowl of coconut rice. Now I've forgotten the name of the dishes, but everything here tastes good! Afterwards, we sampled the MOST amazing fried coconut filled pancake with coconut ice cream. It was bizarrely coloured green, but once you get the taste, it makes you completely forget... well, pretty much everything, it was so good. We left the restaurant nicely full, not popping at the seams, and I'd say the eat in prices are really very reasonable for what you get. I'd really recommend eating here for a casual evening out with...
