Does not live up to its name.
I think im in the minority here because this bar is very popular, but i just dont get it. Ive been coming here on and off for the last 3 years and every time it disappoints for me. The sole reason for that is the music. The bar is set up with comfy, spaced out seating and pool tables, a perfect starting point for a relaxing lounge bar to shoot some pool with the boys. But then at all times of the day they play music at an insane volume. Even going in there at 2pm to play some pool with no one inside, the music is ridiculously loud.
Sure its a high street bar and at night its lively, but then why brand it and set it up as a lounging space, and then make it impossible to do that.
To be honest im really more-so annoyed at the principle of it. But I have never once come here and left feeling satisfied. They need to figure out what kind of bar they want to be and stick to it. Its like setting up a club called ‘lively’ with a dance floor, and then playing smooth jazz all night. It just doesn’t make sense.
Beat the barman is pretty good though, so its...
Read moreWent in during lockdown. Social distancing just isn’t in place. People mix and merge randomly. So now I’ve been contacted because someone there got corona virus and now have to self isolate. I also wasn’t served at all. We went to go to the bar to get drinks but we’re turned away due to Covid restrictions, as people are walking around WITHOUT masks on. So in the end we didn’t get any drinks and just left because no one came to serve us even when we signalled multiple times. This seemed like a really nice place to go and I’m really disappointed with the service and...
Read moreOur night has been utterly ruined after what had been a lovely evening. In the later hours of the evening, we were forcibly removed from the premises by a security guard named "O Cooper" (he refused to tell us his first name so we had to look at his official ID) for no reason at all. We still had full drinks, and we're accused of taking them outside, despite being inside throughout this entire incident. It's a shame that Lounge 72 allows this kind of treatment from a security force that is clearly a separate company. Perhaps they should consider a new...
