My partner works in coffee and we were looking forward to trying different pour overs in Edinburgh. So far had nothing but great experiences till this spot, the staff didn’t seem bothered and gave no information on the pour overs we got “here” and a point at the menu, then a wait of a good 5-10mins until we heard his beans being ground. Another long wait, we then had to ask to get it to go as it’s was becoming silly how long it was taking especially with my coffee being batch brew. Half hearted apology on the wait wasn’t really enough for me. Coffee was ok and we couldn’t even tell which one was which, not ideal when one is £3.5 and ones £9. If you want specialty coffee go to lowdown, at least the staff seem into what they are doing. Was tempted to go back and complain but realised I didn’t...

Hands down, the best coffee I’ve ever had. I’m not exaggerating — it’s on a whole other level.

They roast their own beans in-house, and you can really taste the freshness and quality. Every cup is rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. You can tell the team here are true coffee artisans — passionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated to the craft.

The vibe is just as impressive — stylish, cozy, and welcoming. The staff are lovely and took the time to chat and share insights about the beans and their roasting process.

If you’re serious about coffee (or even if you’re just curious), Cafen is a must-visit. I’ve had coffee in a lot of places, but nothing compares to this. Honestly, it’s the kind of place that makes you rethink what great coffee really is.

Already planning my next trip back....

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely outstanding coffee – a must-visit in Edinburgh!

As a true coffee lover who has explored countless specialty coffee spots across London and beyond, I can confidently say that cafēn serves the best coffee I’ve ever had – not just in Edinburgh,

They roast their own beans in-house, and the quality is evident in every sip – rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. You can truly taste the care and craft that goes into every cup.

The staff are exceptional – warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. They’re passionate about what they do, and it shows. The atmosphere is cosy, inviting, and the perfect place to relax or catch up with friends.

If you’re serious about great coffee, cafēn is an absolute must. I can’t recommend it...

I love this hip little coffee shop near the city center, surrounded by beautiful galleries. The atmosphere is welcoming, with a few seating options and a friendly staff ready to help you choose your coffee. They offer an ever-changing selection, including milk-based coffees and a wide variety of filter options. They also have a small but classic selection of pastries—delicious канели, croissants, and cookies. Everything is tasty.
