I do not normally write reviews about restaurants, but my experience here had been very questionable. I'm not talking about food poisoning, I have been here for three times since it opened, each time I have noticed that the food I would get after it has been prepared appeared to be a lot less than what I have taken in the basket. I normally just brush it off thinking it has shrunken (obviously they would while being cooked). However I visited the restaurant again last Wednesday with my mum and my boyfriend, my mum noticed that she only got 1 prawn and she was certain that she took 3; My boyfriend, who took 5/6 pieces of the oyster mushrooms, only found 3. Now we did not want to make a scene so we told the manager that there is some food missing from our hotpot; however he immediately got really defensive about it and asked to check for us(at this point we have searched all over the place n no sign of food). We politely declined and said we do not need them replaced but just so you are aware. Then we went back to eating and having a conversation amongst ourselves(not loud no one can hear us). Later the manager returned to our table and pretty much shouted at us for ādefaming' his restaurant(by having a conversation within the three of us. Now I did not want to argue with him in frontof a full house of customers but my mum was really upset. I was utterly shocked by his poor attitude. He kept on insisting that he does need '2 prawns and some oyster mushroom' to make money, we did not even ask for them to be added back we just wanted him to know and I honestly do not know why he's so defensive about it. The way I see it is that normally under a teamworking environment, especially restaurant setting, we do not place 100% trust to our coworkers therefore the first instinct would be to double check with kitchen. I suspect they intentionally keep some of the food people order so that they do not have to defrost a new batch(as it was pretty late at night and they've had multiple complaints with food not being fresh before). Anyways just gutted about the manager's poor attitude and he even said'youre the first person to say there's something missing' despite a previous google review stating the exact same complaint. Anyway my point is CHECK YOUR FOOD as they will short you on them. poor attitude and as a fellow Chinese I also feel...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām not in the habit of writing reviews but want to WARN CUSTOMERS of the OVER-PRICING and possible dishonesty at Casserole Wang in Edinburgh!! Charged extortionate Ā£46 for two casseroles to be eaten in a fast food atmosphere. Gourmet prices for a fun, fast-food establishment!! I liked the look of the place, casual & with Asian customers (always a good sign, I thought). A cool idea to pick out your raw ingredients and have them returned as a cooked casserole - which was very tasty, btw! But, the tongs used by other non-vegetarian cusomers after picking up meat are then used to pick up the noodles & vegetables - with potential food-poisoning worries. The raw ingredients are weighed but I was just too polite to question the extortionate cost of Ā£46 for two! To make it worse - once the cooked food arrived, we both suspected that some of our ingredients were missing. Definitely less meat in it than weighed out earlier! Missing recognisable rice sticks and king prawns in mine and beef, chicken & prawns in his. There was no evidence to bring up this issue as the food is sent out back to be cooked. Would be better to show the cooking in front of the customer and alleviate these accusations and the chances of ingredients going āmissingā once paid for! Also - get those scales checked - because something is seriously wrong with your pricing Mr Wang. And, after reading your reviews, Iām not the only one to bring up...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went there myself for a late lunch. When you walk in through the bubble tea section to upstairs it's sees lovely but also sweet. As it was my first time the staff behind the till explained to me how it worked, you have ALPT to choose from like the things you know to things mabye your no use to or mabye to want to give it a try (frog legs, tripe, gizzard, duck blood etc) when I weighed it first time I didn't have alot and the guy behind the till recommended I gey a little more and it was more filling, there's a sauce station as well you can use to make your own dipping sauce ( I didn't but many other customers had some so I'd see what's there for yourself). It's ALOT of food for one person so I'd recomend bringing a friend so you can share one between you as I could not finish it all and I hate wasting stuff but you could ask to take it for leftovers I did t this time just becuae I don't have anything to reheat it. And to those who go for the first time I recommend there medium spice especially if your into your spice as its a good gadge to see how hot you can do since I love Vindaloo level of spice but I don't think I could handle there super spicy and if your selecting things for your bowl I recommend there fired Tofu and its a glorious pipeing hot sponge to soack up all that lovely flavour to burn your mouth off with. Would go again but...
