There was nothing wrong with the food itself, rather, that there was nothing special about the food. While the menu and description looks quite appetizing, and the presentation is beautiful, the food lacked flavor, balance, and uniqueness. We ordered the trout bite, pork belly plate with glaze, and mussel/scallop udon wasabi soup. This was paired with an espresso martini and whiskey on the rocks. Trout: Fresh, slightly salted, but bland (no balance of citrus or cream and the dill had no flavor) Pork belly: the spring roll was the highlight, the belly was perfectly glazed, but there was no wow factor. You can get pork belly anywhere, the idea to put it in a spring roll was the best part of the meal. The chutney was good albeit, again, bland. If this was meant to add more pop to the dish, it was an afterthought. Seafood udon: the wasabi infused sauce had good balance and the scallops and mussels were fresh, but the vegetables added only a slight crunch, and the soup and cream had no flavor otherwise. Nothing special and overpriced. Whiskey: no complaints Espresso martini: overly watered down Service was attentive and the space is central with a good mood. Was very confused by the Spanish music and I would not call this a tapas bar, maybe...
Read moreWe were dining out for a team night out, by recommendation of one of our colleagues who had dined on several occasions. We received a warm welcome, with the hostess taking our coats and bags. Nothing was too much trouble.
The table setting was comfortable and adequate for our group of colleagues. The table had the food and drinks menus available for us all. The various waitering staff were friendly and engaging. Our drinks orders were taken in a timely manner and then afterwards our dimmer order was placed, all of them with a smile. We had water, with cucumber, topped up throughout the meal.
The food served was second to none, credit to the chef. I went for the Haggis Bonbons and Park Belly on recommendation and what a treat!
A perfect atmosphere and setting for a small group or small gathering, date etc. Thank you to the team for making sure we were made to feel at home and comfortable...
Read moreservice was OK until I joked with server that I was in favour of the UK union ! sadly the service turned openly hostile after that ! I subsequently found out one of the owners and mum to majority owner is the person that calls for boycotts on Scots businesses like tunnochs,Highland spring, walkers etc simply because they dare to put a union flag on their products !!! this is an attempt to damage these companies profits which in turn could cost Scots workers their jobs ! sadly this business owner doesn't care ! even though they became hostile at my unionist views they still took my money ! I would avoid this restaurant if you can as no matter your feelings on Scottish indy they are advocating for fellow Scots of all views to lose their jobs ! bottom line I will never eat at any of their restaurants again ! also the food quality and portion size for the prices being charged were not worth...
