The food my friends and I ordered was great but that’s the extent of the greatness…the overall hospitality service was really poor. • The tables were sticky • They didn’t have what we originally ordered so the staff had to come back and forth to tell us what was available to order and what wasn’t, it would’ve been better if staff communicated with the kitchen ahead of time and notified us when we were ordering to reduce disappointment. • When we tried to call over someone there was hardly any staff around to assist us • When the food arrived they forgot cutlery • We asked for water and then only asking for a second time it came out long after our alcoholic drinks. Then we ordered two more drinks that never arrived…by the time we managed to try and flag a staff member down to tell them I had finished my meal and didn’t want a drink anymore so just asked for the bill • When we waited for the bill for 10 minutes they didn’t come back and I think forgot about us so we went up to pay and then were a bit clueless about our second drink and I had to make sure that we took it off the bill so we were not charged for something that never came! • Honestly I had high hopes for this place but the service was really disappointing. If they are short staffed then it would’ve been appreciated to been told prior and there would’ve been a level of understanding. As I said food was really yummy, but wouldn’t go back when there are so many other pubs that do pies in Edinburgh…I can see I’m not the only one that feels this way, should of read the reviews...
